PURPLE KELLY QUEEEENNNNNNN Her story is actually quite sad. Basically she was recruited onto the season to be the stereotypical bikini girl and was told by producers that she could just get voted out early and go on a paid vacation, so she agreed. However she actually started playing the game extremely well and many Nicaragua cast members have come out since and said how well she was socially and that she actually had a very good chance of winning the whole thing. However, because she was cast to be the bikini girl the producers gave her absolutely nothing to wear aside from a skimpy sundress that was effectively useless. Their season filmed in the Nicaraguan rainy season so she was cold and wet almost every single night and because of that she got no sleep at all. You can understand why she quit when everyone else was being given adequate protection from the elements. The producers punished her by making her almost invisible but by giving her THAT big of an invisible edit they effectively martyred her because now she is one of the most infamous players in Survivor history and even has "the purple edit" named after her for other players who receive very little screentime.

Purple Kelly should have been on Game Changers, let's all be honest. She changed the quitting rule, literally changed the terminology of reality television as a whole, and she also showed production that the "Hot Bikini Girl" archetype they like casting still need to have adequate clothing. thats cruel. punishing someone for what you did to them. if Survivor wants the hot bikini girl to last long, give her proper clothing. im sure she will still show her body, but give her something which will keep her from quitting. it shouldnt be her fault she quit, but production dont see their problem as THEIR problem. hopefully they fix that.

Quitting was the best thing for Kelly's legacy. She was always going to have a quiet edit, but the show going out of its way to make her the least memorable Survivor ever actually immortalized her and cemented her legacy. Queen shit

All this taught me was how ludicrous it is to base invisibility on confessionals. I remember Zoe and Chet REALLY well so they really cant be compared to people like Lilliana and Julia who did absolutely nothing of interest. Chet being bullied by other members of the cast was a sub plot that was focussed on so how he makes this list is beyond me.

Purple Kelly still got like 11 confessionals, which is nowhere near as Chelsea Townsend's 4. they named it after PK, but that doesnt mean she has had the least. dont forget this list is about who had the least confessionals, not who is the most famous of the invisible.

Purple Kelly holds the record for going the longest without a confessional (it took her until episode 7), but finished out her final episode with a total of 11, giving her a confessional average of 1 Confessional per episode as she lasted 11 episodes. #1 is actually Chelsea Townsend from Ghost Island, who is tied with Hope Driskill from Caramoan with an average of .33 Confessionals per Episode, or one confessional every three episodes. Chelsea lasted way longer than Hope, so she gets the #1 spot according to the metric established.

there's a lot survivor players that come off as really dull or boring on screen but turn out to be vibrant expressive personalities off the island. Being on the island (obviously) takes a big toll on people not just in a physical way

To speak on Chet's situation...he was going to be 100% pulled from the game after the tribal council no matter the result, and this has been confirmed by him and all the players. I am pretty certain it was producers trying to not have another medevac and also wanting to keep golden boy Ozzy in, and so they tipped off Chet that he should leave or he'd be pulled to prevent him from going.

I agree with you, but I think the reasoning here is that the farther make it in the game, the less likely it should be for you to be invisible or purple edited. Therefore it’s more surprising and seemingly more weird that you’re invisible.

It's not least memorable, it's most invisible, aka least screen time. The further you make it into the season the more confessionals you should be getting per episode because there's less people to split it between. So if you stuck around longer but still pulled low numbers, it makes sense that they're 'less visible' because they should have been getting an even larger percentage of screen time

I'm pretty sure Sunday does speak at tribal, I rememer that cringey conversation about gen x and texts that Jeff brings up and asks Sunday about it, and in the Michaela boot tribal she speaks as well. Can't remember if Carter and Kelly S do but when it comes to Kelly it makes sense because Galu went to only 1 tribal in the premerge and she got voted out at the second merge tribal so it wouldn't shock me if she didn't speak till then.

Chet... For me, the worst player EVER. Not only did he quit, and as you said, chose not to be part of what could have been a legendary blindside. He also screwed his alliance. He only had to quit after Ozzy's torch was snuffed. I really really really loathe him.

Flick off of Australian Survivor had her first confessional in All stars in episode 10. This was all stars and she made it to the final 4 after blindsiding someone on her all star team. Her average per episode on all stars is .58 per episode (her boot episode has her with 6 confessionals, and she had 7 in total) To compare her first season, she had 93 confessionals 15 in her boot episode and an average of… 3.72 confessionals per episode. That is just amusing to me.
