After our first trip to the Baltic, we took 10 days in London to decompress. We spent one day just wandering from store to store, Self's, Harrod', Nichols, Liberty, Peter Jones and ended up in Fortnum's for afternoon tea. The October weather couldn't have been more perfect, the throngs of people, the luxury goods. My Kind of Fun.

That was so much fun! I love the way you describe the details on the different pieces of clothing that make them special and of higher quality. Crikey, how did I miss this? I can't think of Harvey Nics without remembering Ab Fab! (Patsy was obsessed). I haven't been in years either so it was nice rediscovering it through your eyes. Agree the VM is calm and inviting; I'm often put off by Selfridges because it's so noisy and chaotic; too much going on at once. This was GORGEOUS.

Loving the nail colour and agree that the real UK Autumn is late this year. I put my bathroom heating on for the first time today (4/11) and I actually wore a light long sleeved jumper, tights and a padded jacket when I went out first thing. There was a real chill in the air (down here in Devon)

This was definitely a treat and the fact the staff was so friendly and down to earth was a plus! Hate when someone gets in your space or starts offering a million products. Certainly refreshing to experience a department store that lets a customer browse and make up their own minds. The store is just set up in a very modern and practical way. Noticing that furry trend even in the more affordable stores...actually saw something very familiar for men at Wal-Mart and at 24.99 it's a way to wear the look and not cringe if we hate the look as the price did not break us. 😅

Nail colour on point. 💅 It's unseasonably warm at the moment which probably accounts for the leaves still green. I had lunch at Hestons Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Highly recommended. Harvey Nichs is usually very quiet these days when I went in there recently. Take a selfie with the glasses on. Gives you a better idea of how they look on you. They are nice now in Harvey Nichs because they are desperate for your business. They never used to be that nice when they were busier. They used to be really snooty in their heyday. I don't know how they are staying open but I guess if you have billionaire owners, you can afford to haemorrhage money. Pleats for days. 😂 I like that expression. That ring is so beautiful. It really suits you.

Amazing - I was so stressed all day today but after watching this vlog, I'm so relaxed. This was such a great tour of Harvey Nichols - you cover so much, and we totally get the feel of the store. I haven't been there since about 1966! The restaurant is lovely - and the cost is surprisingly reasonable for such a good menu. 07:16 I experienced a friendly staff in the NY Bergdorf Goodman. This tall black gentleman saw me ( an Asian dude) walking in the women's perfume section and said hi. Spritz some perfumes on paper sticks and I said to him that I've been wanting to visit Bergdorf ever since I saw "Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf". I said, "There's department stores, and there's Bergdorf. I even felt like walking taller when I came in here." He was delighted by that and he even gave me a bottled water and a few sweets. Such a lovely guy.

Really enjoyed the tour of Harvey Nichols. The Men's floor was brilliant. Not that I could afford any of it, but the Men's Burberry had some really nice clothes that caught my eye! 🤑 The café/bistro up top though, is definitely somewhere I'd be going for a bite to eat, the menu looked delicious!
