The Most Magical Place, Mount Ievers Court, Co.Clare, Ireland

One of the most beautiful Georgian houses in Ireland, Mount Ievers Court in Co.Clare has been owned by the Ievers family since the 18th Century. Originally there was a castle on the site, which was replaced with the building we see today in 1737. During the 20th century significant restoration work was carried out by Squadron Leader Norman Lancelot Ievers, an RAF officer who fought in the Battle of Britain. In 1997, the film 'The Serpent's Kiss' starring Ewan McGregor and Richard E. Grant, was shot here exclusively. The house is still lived in by the Ievers family, who are the most accommodating and friendly of people. It was a pleasure and honour to film here.

These beautiful buildings may have been built from ill gotten gains but nevertheless it seems a shame when so many fall into ruin. Thankfully the building in this video still survives.

Very fine house but I bet the person who built it was not a local farmer who made his money by working the land and treating all of his workers and suppliers in a good proper manner, I bet this very large house and the many acres land that go with it were stonen for the people of this area, I bet the owner made his fame in the killing fields of invaded lands far away, I might be wrong and if I am then I apologise but the chances are that I am mostly correct in what I said
