When you say “carry the inquiry with you throughout the day.” Is it just asking the question throughout the day and letting it permeate, or does one allow thought into the inquiry process in making connections or acknowledging internal realizations??
@SimplyAlwaysAwake

I wouldn't take the thought path here, it will permeate experience and deepen naturally if you don't get on the thought train.

Thanks Sophie and Angelo. I relate to so much of what you said. Personally, truth is all I ever really wanted. The two of us might have done well in boarding school together, Sophie. Buddhism pretty much drove me nuts when it became 'a thing.' And what the hell was this enlightenment stuff? 🤔 Fortunately, in my experience, the Heart can kind of awaken itself..If we want it. Grief and tears do need to do their thing - it is just terribly painful at times, isn't it? To deny pain is to deny Reality. I wish you and your children much happiness., Sophie. 💛

Thank you! I’ve been realizing that emotional/5 sense work is really gonna be the pathless path for me. Its just a matter of exhausting the seeker until I am just accepting what happens naturally rather than trying to mold experience to my will. This process processes itself.

Probably the most important interview I’ve listened to yet. So crazy relatable to my own experience. Busy mom with no time for retreats, religious upbringing that always felt wrong, even the bike riding - one of my favorite times to do self inquiry. I think doubt is by far my biggest obstruction. I think I need a swift kick in the @$$ from a really good teacher. Let me know if you know anybody 😂

I definitely had multiple "non-dual" experiences as a child. That made me theorize only recently (as I recall them again, in my late 60s), that those who become interested in the issue as adults are perhaps those who had such experiences as a child -- AND, that those who had such experiences as a child perhaps simply had a "different" schedule of ego development, such that they could recall them (if only subconsciously, initially) later on.

Another wonderful interview. 👏👏👏Keep them coming. I wonder, though, if some some may wrongly conclude that early childhood experiences of non-duality, oneness, or whatever, are a per-requisite for awakening and if you didn't have any, you won't wake up. I know that thought crosses my mind from time to time.

Wow, the first 20 minutes of this really resonates with me --- as having EXACTLY the same childhood experiences as you both describe. Two examples: I ASKED to go to church as a child (about 7), and then, going there, thought "No, this isn't it. These people aren't really experiencing what they're claiming, etc." Then, YES, I could always see how some adults had felt pain. It's like it was written all over them, and I couldn't understand how OTHER adults couldn't see it.

Feel the same about the Buddhism part that is where i started. It works but it seems rigid though. It depends heavily on the master as well as linage/tradition? Im not in position to comment in fact as I don’t follow enough. The information about the emotions is very helpful. Thank you Sophie and Angelo❤️❤️❤️

I guess the thing about modern popular Buddhism that irritated me was 'seeking' śūnyatā. (People said the translation meant 'empty.') I guess I relate more to Zen and Yoga (union). I somehow thought that learning about popular Buddhism could somehow resurrect an experience I had once when sitting down outside a Zen temple in Kyoto. Kinda funny, but that was my secret hope, no doubt.

I'm still here supporting but going to refrain from comments. It's become clear that a lot of thought goes into liking a comment for most people, all that decision making: phew. Never needed to think to click a button for everyone. Nothing I say makes any sense most of the time (the whole point is to smile) and I still haven't figured out how the likes go up and down especially in a place like this. More sand than layers? I dunno. Just run out of things to say if I have to be me less. Even still, I love you.

@@humanbeing4995 Your comments were always fine, and made perfect sense to me, at least. In fact, they were sublime: "The void communicates in images and I in words. In the seeming stillness of the early hours, the night bird connects me with her call." 💛 What can I say? As far as comment likes going up/down: my advice is to focus on You. If it inspires you to say something, do. If not, don't stress. There's no expectation or pressure to do anything. Silence is so easy, and sometimes the best way to replenish mental stores. I don't really feel I have anything to say either. It feels natural to rest in quiet silence. I am at peace and will be listening to this vid, and others to come in solidarity and support with the vision, and spirit of this awesome channel. 🙏 Take care of yourself, and may you be at peace, and live out your highest truth. I wish that for you. Be well Xx 💛💛💛🤗

Just felt to share a sense I have had a couple of times. It is an experience of everything arising in my direct experience of simply being present where I am. It’s tricky to explain but it’s a kind of relaxed peaceful sense that everything around me in my life is the Self expressing through me. I am writing this in response to Sophie raising the point of sensing not needing a group because from that shift of perspective you are not alone everything IS you. I offer this in humility because I have not fully awakened but feel that glimpse I had is relevant to your conversation 🙏

Thank you for sharing, Sophie! Beautiful insights, and reflections... particularly in the 2nd half of the interview (no self, unbound consciousness, transient nature of dynamic reality... "bubble-like", I like that!) There's only sensations...you feel it... A field of potentiality...💛

When you spoke about the gambling experiment, I remembered an instance with a stray puppy I knew. I was in the garden, she was outside the gate and she couldn't see me but i could see her, she could smell my scent, and there was her tail wagging. It all happened at once, the sensing and the response to that sensation, that's the tail wagging and all this without any conscious thought. After I recognised that in her, I see it in myself many many times.

It's interesting what you both say about being repelled by the church as children. I had a similar thing - when I was a child I spent some time being raised by adults who were into the new age stuff and I found it inauthentic and uncomfortable. It actually put me off looking into spiritual things for many years.

I get so much reassurance and support from these interviews. The gentle and relaxed tone of this dialogue resonated deeply with me. Maybe it’s an English way of being based on cultural influences as I too was born in London, am an analytical over thinker and have had a lifelong search from a very early age for meaning questioning everything and wondering why I seemed so out of sync with everything going on around me. However thankfully now experiencing an alignment with the Self and having a much better experience Hooray 😁🙏❤️🫂thank you both
