these takes are so bad sob. How can you go from trashing a well designed boss with fair attacks by reducing it to "generic bullet hell with shaders", then immediately switch to praising moon lord, who is a design abomination in all categories except presentation because of insane area denial projectiles with barely any patterns and attacks that can hit you from offscreen out of nowhere, or can make quite literally unavoidable damage from bad luck. On top of that, you trashed empress of light for being susceptible to kiting, but its a flaw that nearly every single boss in the game falls flat to except arguably duke because of enraging outside of ocean. The """beloved""" moon lord is an especially bad case of a boss that crumples to just mindlessly kiting in 1 direction and never being hit. Another funny thing is how badly you misrepresent the eol's items and saying that you need a reason to fight a boss to make it good. for 1, not having an incentive to fight a boss doesnt make it worse by default. and for 2, you ignored how insane insignia is (the speed it gives is so massive that it deserves S tier, arguably above SoC), compared empress wings to any other wings (empress wings have the highest vertical ascent speed before you beat the game, are tied for the best horizontal with fishron wings, and have a special ability to boost your vertical speed even higher you hold the up key), called nightglow worse than RBT when its on par with it, totally ignored kalei when its one of the strongest weapons in the game for summoner, and even in general is very strong, discounted terraprisma just because its harder to get and, on top of all that, called summoner's dps trash when it matches up and even overtakes other classes (assuming you restrict yourself to classlocking), and when its dps is the lowest, its close to the other classes. One final note, you really shilled people to subscribe, selflessly sell your mod, then at the end of the video take credit for directly ripping off a boss from a different game then proceed to self promote your mod AGAIN. I could go on and on but ill end it here

I like the empress of light fight for one main reason, it is basically the only hardmode boss fight that has fair attack patterns for dodging vs things like the destroyer which rely on projectile spam or plantera which relies on you moving in a circle and sometimes dodging claws.

@@glewpie duke is the funniest and hardest boss in game in my opinion (except for EoL in daytime) his attack patterns are not random and you can predict it if u really learn the boss. After I defeated it the first time it was so amazing, I felt like a god that had beaten another god or something. Duke's velocity in the second phase challenges u to be better at dodging and have quick reflexes, 10/10 boss.

@@gericko4931 third phase also encourages you to be more aware(you have almost half a second to react to where duke is, either using minimap or the glowing eyes in the darkness), and memorize. since duke phase 3 goes from one dash, two dashes, and three dashes in a constant cycle

me and a friend were playing with mods installed once (can't remember which ones, just calamity and other stuff) After we had beaten two mechanical bosses a prismatic butterfly must have spawned. I was clearing the hallow with the cleantaminator and the empress of light spawned. We ended up managing to kill her somehow and I got the starlight early. It was a good weapon at the stage of game we were at. I dont think she is as hard as people say.

If it isn't, I disagree with all of the below: 3:23 Apparently, good item drops don't count as an incentive to kill a boss. 5:06 Apparently, Terraprisma and Soaring Insignia are useless. Explains the above take. 6:18 Apparently, a oneshot challenge doesn't make sense for a bullet hell boss. 7:15 Apparently, Eye of Cthulhu is necessary for progression because it drops the Shield of Cthulhu. 7:38 Apparently, Empress of Light is unoriginal because its concept is simple, but a giant metal worm isn't. 12:40 Apparently, wings larger than your body shouldn't be enough to fly, but the player can, no complaints. 13:20 Goes on a tangent about shaders (EOL doesn't have any, they're just blended sprites), and says that since better looking visuals exist in mods (which, yes they're flashy, but aren't consistent with Terraria's art style), EOL is bad. Every attack in the fight is either a direct shot or an AoE and can be avoided by running away. She does have one attack that forces you to weave, but it’s exclusive to the easiest version of the fight for some reason

I'm making a list of your claims in this video but the first one that sticks out to me is the claim that Twilight is worse than the Terra Blade. 1. It isn't. like on a pure DPS level, especially against multiple targets the Twilight is really, really strong. 2. these weapons serve fundamentally different purposes. comparing them is like saying the elf melter knocks the megashark out of the water as a weapon. maybe but the elf melter is a crowd control weapon where the megashark is a (piddly) single target weapon. the idea that the kaleidoscope and eventide and soaring insignia are useless is wild. 3. I agree with the premise that daytime empress of light is a miserable affair but the stardust cell staff is not comparable to the Terraprisma. it's not even close. 4. the empress of light isn't original in the context of modded bosses but like... neither is the destroyer, or the eye of cthulu or the brain. this is a poorly crafted argument. picking out the twins, the most unique boss in terraria as your comparison is unbelievable. 5. I wish you could fight empress of light in any game. I'd kill to fight her in gungeon. that sounds rad. 6. bosses you can fight anywhere: King Slime, Eye of Cthulu, Destroyer, Twins (which you complimented in this video) Skeletron Prime, Moon Lord. The idea that Empress doesn't have an original location in the game is true! it's just not a unique thing about her fight. 7. The moon lord fight is cool, yeah. I like the originality of him trying to lock to your screen! his attacks are just bullets that launch at you though. there's nothing unique about his bullet hell mechanics at all. 8. Queen Slime and Deerclops do suck yeah. 9. this video didn't talk about what made empress of light bad. it didn't make a single coherent point. giant demon eyes is probably the least original boss/enemy designin video game history, Maze did it, Kirby did it, doom did it to some extent, at least try to compare originality with something thats actually original, like duke fishron or the eater of worlds. Terraria literally used an already existing IP from HP lovecraft and made it 3 bosses of it, Skeletron is literally a fucking skeleton the most basic enemy in videogames and just saying his name makes it sound like a joke. You aren't the best at arguing your points with examples, you could have been more critical/reflective and said that you simply just didn't like the fight instead of trying to pick apart every aspect of the boss. This isn't a nuanced fair opinion, this is just blind dislike to a boss and while that's still a valid stance to have, it is backed up with poor examples and thoughts. Empress of light is very different to the bullet hells you showed, similar to cultist, she has tracking projectiles, area of effect and she even charges at you directly, empress of light is a bullet hell with a twist, that she actively reacts to you rather than being a one sided battle like a lot of other mods and bullet hells, which i think is significantly more interesting than you make it out to be.

I always ditch the terraspark for soaring insignia. The infinite flight and the superior vertical speed is just too good. Especially with good wings like Fishron and StarBoard

Terraspark boots just arent good tbh. First of all frog boots are better due to increasing your vertical speed and second of all they dont boost your ground speed which becomes obsolete in hard mode due to most combat taking place in the air.

I've never been so mixed on an opinion honestly. I can agree that her position in progression is fairly awkward and the items she drops can be pretty hit or miss (I like Duke Fishron's drops better). Vanilla's EoL fight is pretty average, didn't struggle much on her, while Infernum's EoL is my favorite, being both fun and challenging. I'm quite surprise at how dismissive you seem of other content mods and their takes on these type of fights, writing them off as nothing more than shaders and bullet hell. Maybe I missed the point and you can correct me if needed. Overall I enjoy your content, but I don't really understand what you meant with this video.
