My constant pet peeve is- reverse the bug screen and shade so the shade pulls up and the bug screen comes down so you get breeze, a view - and privacy.

Best van build I've seen. I've looked for quite a while. I too have two dogs what a beautiful custom build.

Any water storage that is exposed to the outside elements, like this combo grey/h20 tank under the rig, does NOT make this rig 4 seasons. He should NOT say it is a 4 season rig!!. That tank under the rig will freeze and then you are screwed...Yep thats right, no water. The other thing is those tanks under the unit are very vulnerable to road hazards, paved or otherwise. They need to be covered with steel plates.

I think he said it’s only grey water under there. Would that make a difference if it freezes?

The holes in the sidesteps can be problematic for dogs - their nails can get stuck in them. Very nice build.

I'm surprised the customer didn't request rounded corners on the tables and any exposed sharp edges. With large dogs, they can easily trip or fall into things, in such a tight space. I'm thinking yacht design feature.

Great van! Def would want something like that for a small dog I'll get in the future, but would need storage for a folding bike too. Good video as always.

I agree - great for two small to medium sized dogs, or one large dog. I would not personally want 2 Rottweilers in such a small space for any length of time, certainly not overnight, as they like to lie stretched out and the odd angles of each crate means they couldn’t do this. My dogs sleep on my bed though, so if the crates were only used while moving it would be fine. To crate the dogs for long periods I would need that entire crate space for one dog. Times 3 😂

That’s a fantastic build. So interesting- thanks for posting. Obviously suits this customer, but for me the dog crates were an afterthought and not the main priority. For a large, bulky dog, the dog area was tiny and an odd shape. One of my Rottweilers would be comfortable in the whole space, but not two. My dogs sleep on the bed, and are always with me, so would only be in the kennels for travelling. Although they couldn’t stretch out, it would be fine for a few hours, though not overnight. Given that the crates have separate air con (great touch) and temp monitor, I suspect the dogs will spend quite a bit of time in the crates while the owner isn’t there (or is asleep) so I personally would have gone for a more dog friendly design. I’d probably also change the way the partition moves. The fixed rail would be painful for a dog to step on, particularly jumping from the ground. If you would not want to walk on it, neither does a dog, and an injury to a competitive dog would leave a very angry customer. Much easier to pull the partition to the side as with horse trailers.

Lots to love. I love the slide out shelves, that's a great use of space. Sadly, the prices they ask for these are ridiculous and defeats the purpose of saving money by sacrificing a home for a van.

Really cool build and neat solution for the client needs. I'm going to be really curious how the dog hair impacts with the electrical components in terms of being sucked in and air circulation. I have two dogs and one is a boarder terrier that sheds a rather ridiculous amount. The other has hair. We have to vaccume our entire house at least 2 times a week to keep up with one 56 pound dog. Let us know how that works out after some time with this build. I'm very curious.

Van people & builders always forget about the EMF's from the solar set ups-no protection! Those dogs will be exposed right next to the system. I am sure it will affect their health if traveling so much! Why is there no consideration of this when paying so much to these van builders?
@lunatune37142 ай бұрын
Not harmful lying
@jessicadentalaid4728Ай бұрын
I’ve been looking specifically for ANYONE to start talking abt this (EMFs in van life) regularly! I can’t find any channel with even a semi-focus on that, so there’s a market/ biz opportunity for anyone lol. Also, I n the last few years we humans have launched 1000s of satellites so the earth is literally bathed in EMFs so everyone should start thinking abt mitigation bec in the 1000s of years of human biology, we have never had our biology subjected to this level of EMF. There’s no real understanding in culture about what this means for our biological health going forward. Back to vans: I’ve thought it’s possible that sleeping in a van using only DC would actually be better than a house with AC fluctuation in the walls/floor/ceiling, but I’m not sure I understand it all. I DO imagine that being so close to Wi-Fi antenna like WeeBoost (or however it’s spelled) has got to not be healthy. I’m not sure the solar generator itself is a problem except when it feeds into an *AC system* and causes massive vacillations in the current which is biologically unhealthy. I think DC might be ok w it. I got super sick after installing solar panels on our house and I’ll never do that again. But if the residence/van is ONLY DC, then I’m not sure the solar panels are a problem. Does anyone know? Or know anyone who focuses on EMFs and van life?
