ISP when you get to the field marshal achievement, I’d recommend doing it and the By Merit Alone achievement at the same time if you don’t have it. Saves a lot of grinding, can easily get it by killing wave after wave of Japanese naval invasions

I got the sun tzu reborn back in the day by grinding out mao as a general and then promoting him, and I don't really want to do that all over again for a unit commander if I'm being honest

The best way to get the Sun Tzu achievement is to just grind a general to level 9 and then promote them to field marshal. Obviously a career officer or a really high level general is best. I don't think i've ever had a level 9 field marshal without doing this.

By far, the worst part about Iron Man mode is that you can't save manually. Imagine getting halfway through a month of intense micro, then you have to get off. As a grown ass man, saying "wait, I can't save my game" doesn't fly when the wife starts throwing dinner at you.

You should definitely check a mod that recently came out called Ultimate Greece rework. It pretty much gives Greece the focus tree that it should have had when the DLC for that nation came out.

I can't be the only one that actually prefers non-historical focus paths. Every successful campaign I've ever had was on non-historical with the exception of one, and somehow even on that one I managed to get Poland to accept my demands, and Britain to sign off on Both Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia. So it was "historical".

Allied AI needs a huge rework. Played as the Soviet's and survived until 1945 when I quit. England and America had 30 divisions each on tiny pacific islands and garrisoned every tile in North Africa with 5 divisions per tile. Never D-Day'd

I guess you didn't get the lvl 9 field marshall, well, I did it recently with Mao china, I just declared war on everyone in 1936 and surrounded my capital with forts, it still took till 1957, yes 57, to get the general to lvl 9 and promote it to field marshall
