question, why not still use barrier film over the bottom of the machine ( needle side ) for the extra protection while also only creating a hole with the cartridge? you still get to use the grip regardless so why not completely wrap your machine?

That is the best way, however I’m waiting for barrier film to be delivered as we ran out haha. But you are 100% correct that is the smartest and best way to wrap a tattoo machine.
