This week I’ll be showing you how I set up my station for tattooing. This is how I set up with the goal of being as clean, healthy and sanitary as possible to keep both myself and the client safe from blood born pathogens.
I go over how I set up my station from start to finish, how I add clean barriers to my armrest and table, and how I wrap my bishop wands eliminating any cross contamination.
This demo and the tips and tricks mentioned in this video are intended for existing tattoo artists to implement into their clean set up. This isn’t the only way to be sanitary, but by sharing my methods, I hope to give you all some ideas that you can immediately add to your routine.

This is so refreshing to see- I see so many artists doing little things here and there that aren’t sanitary and they don’t seem to think anything of it. Thank you for this! More artists need to take tips from this.

If you buy clip cord sleeves and cut them in half they are long enough to fit both machine and battery without removing the grip. So your essentially just incasing the whole thing with plenty of room for adjustment and it's 100% covered

hi im sorry but these grips arent like traditional machines where theres ink moving in them all of the bio hazard stays contained within the cartridge if you are using good brand cartridges! so the grip would really just need to be wiped down with what ever you area already sanitizing your work surface with in my opinion.

Great video! Considering you have such a careful way of working, i would love to hear some tips of how to set up the machine if it's the new wand with critical batteries. I got one of those recently, and so far I'm struggling since i keep choosing between comfortably adjusting needle or trying to make the battery face the front of cartridge 😅 i know it sounds silly but it cuts out a bunch of time overall to constantly twist the machine to turn it off, and i just can't figure out how to divide ring and battery without interrupting coverage so i can twist them separately 🥲

@@gallosantiago4776 no problem! Right now im wrapping the three parts of the machine separately, and then add wrapping tape to grip and a fine strip to the ring of the machine (the part that changes color depending on the wand version). But by using this method, I get complete coverage from the cartridge to that said ring, but if I touch the battery with wet gloves for example with vaseline, I get the joint contaminated since the wrapping interrupts so I can plug the battery and also twist it. Hope that helps but if not and you don't mind feel free to contact me through instagram.com/emiiink and I'll send a video of my machine wrapped 😊

@simonkristiansen960 3 жыл бұрын
Awesome video as always! i got a quick question, what was your voltage range with the bishop packer as say if you would line with a 1205RL to -> 1211RL? i come from coils, and the cheyenne thunder, and somehow, i find it hard to get the lines look great when healed when i use the machine, we use the elite brand carts, i know that has alot to say, but with the other machines i have perfect healing, with the packer not :( i'm around 8.5-9 volt when lineing with all groupings, i have tried to to like 7.5 and so on, but it takes forever to line. - And would you be able to do your soft black and grey with the packer? have you tried? i'm wondering if to buy the shader aswell.... Thanks!

@BennyParcher 3 жыл бұрын
hey bro i come from coils too and i switched to the bishop wand a few months back. i can tune the hell out of coils so i had a really hard time getting used to the rotaries but what i found out is that each rotary has a recommended voltage to run them at. mainly because the motar is made to run a certain way. i also heard its hard to line with most rotaries and what i know about my coil liner is that i need a big stroke and a hard hit so i invested in the bishop wand liner because it has the biggest stroke for any rotary and still i have to run my hand a little slower than a coil but its been working for me lately. plus i notice when im lining an ink bubble will collect at the tip of my cartredge and it stops the ink from flowing properly when im lining so i have to keep an eye on that along with where my throw is set. hope that helps.

@@BennyParcher totally does help! thanks, great answer, yea i have been a little bit scared of the wand liner to purchase it, it can really scar some people i think, thats why i bought the packer so i would have a great all around machine, it just dosent seem to hit as i want it, about the packer tho voltage, its hard because some few people i know line where i do around 9 v, but 90% does around 6-7 volts, but when i go down there i just... i dont know, it just seems so soft hit :D but thanks man!
@gallosantiago4776
@gallosantiago4776 3 жыл бұрын
i would definitely drop it out significantly lower brotha, i dont use it to line but my ex is a illustrative artist and she did really clean lines working around the 5.6 to 6.1 range and id probably start there, while it might be slower the machine is designed a certain way and is gonna line how ever it wants to line and you just gotta find that sweet spot and adapt. i could definitely see how that speed you have it at might affect the healing. hope that helps!
@BennyParcher
@BennyParcher 3 жыл бұрын
@@simonkristiansen960 the wand liner still doesn’t hit as hard as my coil but I can line with the packer too. I use a 5 rl and I’m still having issues with bigger needle groupings but I put the needle almost all the way out and run it a little higher. Also I noticed the wands are so light I have to push a little to imitate the weight of my coil machine. I almost went back to coils over it. I stuck with it though and things are getting better.
