As far as guesses for the identity of The Emperor in the Mulan movie, it is not a terrible guess. The story of Hua Mulan apparently originated in the Northern Wei between the 300s and 500s AD. Meanwhile, Emperor Taiwu (otNW) unified much of Northern China in the early 400s. There are other candidates who are probably just as likely, though.

Heyo! I'm one of the Data Sora voters, completely being genuine here! First off, he's just Sora but digital. That's cool as shit. More importantly though is his fighting style. Data Sora embodies Re:Coded's gameplay, which is my personal favourite combat in the series (yes I play KH2 randomizers, I'm a hardcore fan and I mean it). Data Sora is the only character who has access to Judgement Triad or Triple Blizzaga or ExoSpark, and let's not forget the Zero/One Keyblade, and for that he's absolutely one of the coolest characters in combat. Lastly, there's a particular line Data Sora says in ReCoded (I don't know if he says this in 2.5 because why would I watch that): "If you've lost your way, pick a direction and walk." Arguably terrible advice for someone lost in the wilderness, but as a mantra in life it has genuinely helped me in some dark moments. Data Sora is really cool!😊

I didn't vote for him, but Dewey is great in the new DuckTales reboot. He is written as a middle child who constantly yearns for action and attention, making him super funny. He's also voiced by Sonic, so that's fun. I'd recommend checking out the DuckTales reboot if you haven't, it's amazing and a perfect example of a reboot.

Dewford Dingus Duck might be my personal least favourite of the triplets from the reboot (justice for my boy Louie), but even that comes with the acknowledgment that I still like him a lot. I think he can veer into annoying at times for me, but that’s probably because this is a children’s show, targeted towards children, and maybe my 30 year old ass should chill a little and let him be loud and obnoxious on occasion.

As one of the people who voted for Vanitas, I'm sad but not surprised that you didn't bring up the novelization, which really did a lot to make him sympathetic. It has two really important points to his character that weren't shown in any of the games, being 1). Vanitas constantly feels incomplete and can't feel happiness without Ven, but he also felt compelled to try and attack him any time they're near. And 2.) Vanitas feels physical pain any time an Unversed is killed, and he spawns and kills them himself sometimes out of grief. (I think it was even implied that's where the boss Unversed come from? Something about them getting bigger as his pain grown stronger I think?) Knowing that kinda paints him in a different light and it's a huge shame to me that these tidbits of character are relegated to Japanese only books. Though I don't know if they would even be able to get away a depiction of self harm in a game series like this, even one so layered.

My headcanon about Stitch meeting Lilo is that the island in question is Destiny Islands, and Lilo is there in a similar way to Zack and Auron in Olympus Coliseum. There were a lot of joke submissions but Cozy Glow caught me so off guard I laughed for a solid minute. I AM pretty huge on MLP so I'm kinda curious on who voted for her. I mean we know Lilo and Stitch started 11 years before KH2 and she turns 7 at the end of the movie, meaning she'd be 17/18 during KH2 which. yeah okay she's in college and Stitch ran off to space just in time to reunite with the wayfinders. Although I’m certain that it was a ton of work on your end, this style of video is so amazing. It’s a celebration of what people love in this series. It took me several days to narrow down my choices to 5, which I think speaks to the appeal of these characters. It’s just really nice to see a video that embodies “that’s my guy :D!” Plus I know what an arroyo is now! Yay!

As someone who voted for Xemnas, I guess I was expecting him to be a little more popular than he was! Then again, a big reason I voted for him is that he's had consistently good boss fights in the numbered titles. That's actually something I was surprised didn't get brought up more often. Even if a character isn't the deepest story-wise, memorable gameplay or good boss fights can make up a lot of the reason they're your favorite!

There's a few factors to that-- the spin-off video required more thought from me and wasn't as easily written. I also moved and got covid between that video's survey and the final product. And I just generally found this project more fun so it was easier to work on. (Not like trying to um-actually you, just clarifying for anyone who's curious lol)

I genuinely didn't think Leon would get as high as he did but I'm very glad to see people giving him so many props. He was one of those characters I thought was just plain old cool as a kid when I played through KH1 the first time. But just before KH3 came out I played through FF8 and really enjoyed it, then got the idea to play through the KH series again in anticipation for KH3's release and something about Leon's character just clicked for me. He's actually a really interesting character that could be a true fan favorite if Nomura/the writers gave him more focus on himself, his actions, and accomplishments. Plus, I was pretty invested in the Restoration of Hallow Bastion/Radiant Garden when I was playing through KH2 the first time, and one of the personal issues I had with KH3 when that first came out was how Radiant Garden is seemingly back to the way it was in Birth By Sleep with no time given for the narrative to show how big of a moment that should be for the characters both living on Radiant Garden and for Sora and co. Also, because Squall/Leon in FF8 starts out extremely distant and brooding, whenever he shows up again in the few FF crossover titles, he tends to be portrayed like he was at the start of the game, because that's him at his most recognizable. So I really enjoyed playing through KH2 after having beaten FF8 and seeing Leon in a similar mindset to how he is at the end of FF8. Still rather quiet and still has difficulties in expressing his inner thoughts, but more openly emotive and comfortable around the people he surrounds himself with. Now let him see his girlfriend in Kingdom Hearts, Nomura! This is a threat and I will not accept the KH2 epilogue credits sequence of Leon reading a letter and Rinoa's angel wing emblem popping out of it any longer!

Legit, FF8 is pretty much a proto Kingdom Hearts and it's so lovely to see Leon get a continuation the follows from where he ended FF8. And yes, RELEASE RINOA AND ANGELO. KH fans are NOT ready for her energy, Sora would love Angelo too 😢

Leon / Squall is my favorite FF character ever and is one of my absolute favorites in KH as well. I really want him to remain in the series and not just get pushed out.

I think I have seen a comment in another video that Ultimecia’s final form looks like a Heartless or the ship forms of Ansem or Xemnas. The grandiosity of Ultimecia’s battle also corresponds to the final battles in Kingdom Hearts games.
