Also take into account that one drop (the beat played in the video) can be counted as playing only on 3 with the snare and kick. It feels absolutely the same and works the same as playing on 2 and 4 but in a band context its better to count it as the hits are on count of 3, because the guitars usually skank on 2 and 4 in reggae. Playing without band doesnt really matter while playing without band.

2 and 4 is the right way to count if your gonna play reggae , kick and snare doesn't drop on 3 when playing one drop it does on 2 and 4 bless

Do you have a video on how to get that reggae snare tone? I been tryna figure out how to get my snare to sound reggae,...I use pearl snares. Is there a specific snare I have to use or just crank up the tuning?
