The game introduced some unique difficulty mechanics and experimented with them, but overall, they didn't work out because: 1: Players don't like knowing they're bad (with the visible, clear difficulty changes/performance rating) 2: Many players want to stay at the higher difficulties only The adaptive difficulty was still good though, game developers, as other developers, probably figured out from this game that they need to hide it and be subtle with it.
