A great piece of engineering for a 1/18 scale. That butterfly shoulder is something new to me.

Yeah, you don't get too many butterfly joints on 1/18 scale action figures. Just needs a little refining, but a great start!

I had not paid much attention to the Joytoy Romans but this new buck has my attention now (thank you for making me aware of it). The only 1:18 figure series i can think of that could compete with the articulation is the Microman MicroForce line from the early 2000's. The MicroForce double ball joint shoulders and double jointed elbows might give them the advantage but I would need to see both side by side to be sure. I'm curious to see where Joytoy goes with this new buck. How well would it work with sculpted on clothing? How well would it work sculpted to be more robotic? And how well would this buck work with soft goods clothes? I'll have to check with Urban Rev Toys to see if he makes 1:18 shirts and pants as well as jackets and kimonos. I'm also curious how this new buck disassembles for painting/customizing. I'll have to get a couple to play around with. Thank you for this video.

Yeah, I wasn't too enthused with the line, but I remembered they utilised this new buck and was glad to get my hands on it. Would be good to see how you break it down the way you do and test out how things work. The soft goods route would be really interesting, like a lil mezco or hot toys in 1/18. Would love to know if joytoy have any other plans with this buck and what they'll do

@SkellywagsTV thank you. I did go ahead and order the 5 pack of the Romans to try out that new buck. I will definitely be taking one apart to see how the joints work and using one to try some UrbanRev Toys soft goods.

I wonder if they'll be able to use this body for their other military lines. Also, I recently got back into 1/18, dusted off my collection, because 1/12 were taking up too much space and making a serious dent in my bank account. I come to find that many single 1/18 figures can be just as expensive as their 1/12 counterparts, which is kind of crazy.

I was thinking the same thing. How do you incorporate this body with other armour pieces and gear? They could paint it another colour and have it so that it's a skin tight body suit and add modern armour. Yeah, some of the premium 1/18 scale figures can end up costing quite a bit. Acid Rain, Planet Green Valley, some Joytoy...

this is probably a dumb question but are the biceps really gummy. ive noticed some releases from joytoy that the elbow flexs left and right due to the bicep being soft plastic.

Biceps are fine, some of the other joints were a little gummy or sticky at first. After I gave him a hot bath, all the articulation was freed up

only complaint i have is the pecs should have more definition or mass imo because it would match his abs they have way more definition it looks kinda uncanny srry im into fitness edit: i understand the butterfly joint makes it somewhat harder to sculpt a good chest its just that i think id like some improvements in the future

I'd agree with you there. Hopefully they'll improve with each iteration. I would like a larger, more muscular body as well. And just different body types in general

shoulder look like they slab a piece of meat in the body but over all it looks good sometimes you don't need to over exaggerate the articulation to make a better action figure look at ADAM 1/12 and Romankey 1/12
