I think paladins got some real potential with the lore and story, even though at first glance all the champions seems kinda all over the place If you check out the voice lines on the wiki you can see a lot of the champion kinda already have a relationship with one another I hope hi-rez will hire some kind of writer when the game is finished

Here's my theory, simplified: Wekono is a snake god, manifested in Mal'Damba's snake. This explains the spiritual nature of the snake. Now, this tiny snake is not Wekono's true form, but just a weakened physical form. Now, when Mal'Damba uses his ult and says, 'Sun de Wekono', that is him summoning Wekono's true form, albeit too temporarily to do anything more than be scary, which is why the ult does no damage, but fears enemies away.

I think the reason that it's more deep is because of its relatively ambiguous nature. You have to infer from the existing clues which can make it deeper depending on the theorist's assumptions.

The second guardian of the realm is Seris. As you said in the video, I went to the shooting range and put my video settings all the way to the max. After doing so, I checked the symbols which are found on Shell Shield(Makoa's shield ability). And I found a symbol which looked like an eye. It looked like a Sheikah Eye, if you actually know the Legend of Zelda series. The first champion which came up to my head was Seris, I tried to find an eye symbol on her clothes, but I didn't find anything which looked like an eye. After that, i checked the cards, and there was a card(Forgot its name) which shows a hand of a sorceress, could be Seris, and someone else's arm with a blue shiny eye on it which looked similar to the one on Makoa's shield. There was 2 or 3 other symbols that I still didn't understand, I'll try to find the other guardians later.

Math Wilson I see what you mean. I think it's the same person because if you look at mal'damba now, he is quite skinny and "tanned". Looking at pictures of mummified bodies (in the desert), you can see how they have an almost "wood like complexion". So that is what i was basing it on. Being possessed also means that you have no control over your body, so your food is not a must. Mal'damba is skinny as hell and well you know the rest! Thanks for bringing this point up :)

That makes a lot of sense. I thought that Damba was made skinny and with a somehow black skin was because he is from Haiti. Like you've said in your video he have a lot of references to Damballa. Damballa is one of the "gods" from voodoo. Voodoo is the official religion of Haiti. Other point i think he might be from there is the fact that Haiti have a language derived from French. Mal'damba have a french like talking. So until now i always thought he was just an Haitian. A poor country (which would explain why he is skinny). Until now...because now i'm thinking he is just possessed.

i was looking up stuff about damballa, and i found this...Damballa also spelled Damballah is one of the most important of all the loa. Damballa is the Sky Father and the primordial creator of all life. He rules the mind, intellect, and cosmic equilibrium. not sure if this will help you, but this could mean that mal damba, along with makoa is a ancient protector, obviously, just speculation ;) i also searched up loa but it came up with a mmorpg game and couldnt find anything useful with it, but i hope if u try, that you have good luck

What you wrote is basically the thing it says on Wikipedia, by the way; Loa is a term used in voodoo which refers to a god, ghost or astral being. The words "Mamaloa" and "Papaloa" came from the word as well, these refer to the priestesses and priests of the voodoo society. So this could mean that Mal'Damba is a Papaloa, in fact. And the MMORPG you came up with was probably World of Warcraft (my guess) as the Troll race there is heavily related to voodoo and the Loa.

It's just a game theory I read earlier, but along with Makoa, champs like Inara, Grover, and Androxus all guard a part of the realm. If Smite is in the same universe as Paladins, even more so(since Grover is one of the gods' mount).

Since 2 of the for are tanks, wouldnt it be more logical to assume the other 2 are yet to be released tanks? 1 with say, a fire connection and the other a wind connection? I think a warden is a protector, and who protects better than a tank? Makoa is obviously the water warden, and Inara the Stone warden so I think the other 2 are related to one of the other elements. Fernando would be a possibility, since he calls himself a protector, and is related to fire, but I doubt it.

Mal Damba's four current sprays is a backstory though Firstly he is greedy for some ancient treasure so he goes robbing and steals a bunch of gourds (Many Gourds) And one of them contained a snek spirit (Venomous Gourds) He gets attacked by the snek and a ritual occurs (Ritual Magic) And finally converts to Mal Damba with many snek spirits coming to him (Snake Pit) Ritual Magic and Snake Pit sprays could be swapped around too.

i got some nice theory for you all. i know almost the entaire back storie of mal'damba! first i want to mantion the similarities between andro and damba. 1.they are the only champions that wear masks 2.the masks have the same shade of green to the eyes 3.both have a relation to serpents, andro has his gun and arm turn to some sort of a dragon. and mal'damba... self explanatory. (keep in mind that the 3 example can be coincidence) now, I do think that mal'damba is possessed, but not directly. it make more sense to think of him as a pupet controld by Wekono.the only mortal to kill a god is andro,and if Wekono is inside mal'damba it will be much more difficult to kill him then what is shown in the game. it also make sense to think that Wekono is a powerful god if he can grand pawors to mortals. now, why Wekono possessed mal'damba? to fight the othre champions of course. but why would he possess and send to fight? why he need to possess someone to fight? why he want to fight at all? and why thare are any similarities between andro and mal'damba? so this is my theory. Wekono is trapped in the abyss, he doesn't have enough power to escape. he need more power. Wekono possesses one of his followers and give him powers. because Wekono is in the abyss the man have a mask with green eyes. this man is called mal'damba.Wekono send mal'damba to fight the other champions in some sort of a tournament, the winner will get a rare crystal that will give the owner a lot of power. if mal'damba wins he will use the crystal to release Wekono from the abyss. so yea, that is all that I got for now. let me know what you think.

I wanted to wait before commenting on this video. For a start, I remember when I was new to the game, I would've thought Terminus or Seris would have been the strongest. But after Rise of Furia practically confirming Seris (formerly Sarah) is merely a puppet of the Abyss. It's not just being a diehard fan of the already-powerful-before-possession witch doctor that has me siding with you on the claims, but being convinced to have the same insight that you and your friends have, I'm left with the firm belief that not only Mal'Damba and Jenos could be the most powerful of the champions to date, but that there's more to them than meets the eye, and I'd anticipate more lore for them. I also just had to come back to this video, since at the time of writing this, datamining and the teasers from SMITE confirming the God Olorun of the African Pantheon is next in line after Horus and Set. She can literally just drown everyone except Makoa and possibly Inara if Inara makes a raft from land. It's not in what you have that shows your power, it's what you can literally do. True, Maeve just turns everyone blind at a 15 feet radius, but still, the literal name of the ult is "Midnight." That's definitely related to the moon.

Another possible strongest person in real life were paladins champs to be real would be Evie; she's a literal Ice witch, making her have control over temperature. Have you ever watched Re:Zero? I'll give you a spoiler warning now. Emilia's pet is an Ice Witch/Spirit. Ayyy what you just said is my theory I was thinking of the past couple of days. The same way. I was thinking of how Wekono would feature in the game. Instantly thought of some sort of possession. Wondered why, then looked at my builds and saw Posession which nearly confirmed it to me. Wow. This other stuff is way beyond where I was up to. Mal'Damba is *definitely* not so very loosely based on Damballa. Right down to the Slither. They mention a Haitian link, so it is very likely more from there. I love this lore stuff. Had to create this theory to easy my mind. These other voice packs are from parallel universes 😂 Being brought up where I am, I didn't have to ask the questions people asked in the comments. 😂

I know I am late but I will give some info. Androxus is good for a try, of course. His course is good evidence to backup that he is powefull and all. To kill a god completely (even such as Nix) means to take the life of something or someone that does not exist on just one universe or even more than a single "existance" maybe it does not count on it but it is something quite big. Androxus is at least more powefull and inteligent than others think. Mal' damba is too a good one, with all the spirit stuff is sure a big deal (I won't defend him much, this video gives already the info) Makoa is too in my mind, but he is a guardian... that one is a bit harder. Inara is the same thing around (maybe not that much like Makoa, she is too something from the ancient but Makoa is the elder I believe) Grover is not a big deal to my eyes (may be wrong ;/ ) And Seris is the last one that I can tell that comes from the ancient (if I forgot someone please tell me S: ) She is neither the powerfullest neither the weakest "oldies" arround here. I did not want to offend no one, I just give my ideas of posible champions that are powerfull. I don't think most of the normal ones are powerfull, so ancient it'll be!
