I have played it and I still think it's shit so idk. I don't like the art-style and how chaotic it is. For a team-based objective game, I have yet to experience any synergy or co-ordination other than calling out enemy positions and killing them. It feels like a TF2 pub except it's way more boring and very unbalanced. The card system is interesting though but none of the characters really stick out to me unlike in Overwatch or in TF2 where the classes and heroes all have their distinct personality and you actually care about them. Paladin's champions just feel like generic character archetypes thrown in a game. "Hey wouldn't it be cool to have a guy with a hook in the game that can pull in people and shoot them with a shotgun?" That kind of shit. If we look at Roadhog and if you read his backstory, it's pretty fucked up. Makes him interesting. Not only that but the classes and heroes interact with each other in their respective games which immerses you into the world and makes the the universe of the game feel alive. In Paladins, the champions are kinda just there with no real reason or motivation.

***** The bombs work completly different. Junkrat's bounce and blow up at a set time or when they hit an anemy. Bomb King's throw straighter, stick, and you control when they explode. They're quite a bit different. If you ever played Team Fortress 2, Junkrat uses the Demoman's grenade launcher, while Bomb King uses Demo's sticky launcher. Two different guns that work different. The two characters work different enough that they could both exist in the same game.

the deck and item system makes the game more unique, and you can have your own play style. And makes the game more competitive, so diffrent types of decks and items can become meta like in league of legends for example.

You know, I really want to say something here. I have 230 hours in Overwatch and 150 hours in Paladins, and I can say that Blizzard badly needs take notes from Hi-Rez. The biggest problem with Overwatch is the fact that many heroes can "one-shot" enemies and it always feels unfair when it happens, but Paladins doesn't have that problem at all. So, Paladins has a few characters that take inspiration from Overwatch heroes. But whenever there is a Paladins counterpart for an Overwatch hero, the Paladins character _always_ has a better design. For example, Androxus has a revolver like McCree, but he is instead a very mobile flanker (and he does not have a stun) who does focus on headshots as much as McCree does. McCree has a constantly shifting pendulum of balance, where he is _always_ either too overpowered or too underpowered, and never in-between. Androxus on the other hand has no problems at all. Now let me explain Widowmaker: as we all know, in competitive mode she is very bad and should never be picked unless you have near-perfect headshot accuracy. Enter Kinessa. Kinessa is much different and doesn't have that problem. Her shots deal relatively the same amount of damage as Widowmaker's, but the difference is that it is much easier for her to land body shots while it is harder to land headshots, and her headshots also deal much less damage and will never actually one-shot enemies. Sha Lin is a bit similar to Hanzo, although only because he has a bow (all of his abilities are completely different). He deals moderate damage per arrow and lands body shots much easier than his counterpart. Although unlike Hanzo, he cannot land headshots _at all_. His arrows are _only_ body shots. Makoa has a hook like Roadhog, but is otherwise not like Roadhog in any way. His weapon is a cannon that fires a single cannonball which only deals a moderate amount of damage, which means that he cannot one-shot enemies like Roadhog can. His hook works differently than Roadhog's hook because it can be used to "drag" enemies in front of his team. Also, he has no self-heal ability. Instead he can shield his team (which is something that all tanks in Overwatch should be capable of) and a movement ability. Long story short, Blizzard can learn a lot from Hi-Rez in terms of hero design. Oh and one last thing: *there is no Ana in Paladins, so there is no 3-tank meta.* You get the idea.

Jake Hawthorn yeah, but you need skill to actually use him correctly. you don't just fly up and fire rockets. his AOE isn't that good. but he does have huge damage. and his fire spit acts like pharahs arm rocket. but you need to shot it with your rocket to actually knock people down. or it would just give your rockets more damage towards that character. his ulti is actually a combination of reinhardt and one punch man. cause you charge it and you can one punch any character. its fun to have since you can take out tanks with it. and it can turn the tide of the game.

Everyone is getting mad about how Paladins is a rip-off and/or copy of Overwatch, but think about it; Just because, a character has a revolver in Paladins doesn't mean that it is a copy of Mcree; just because a character has a shield and fireball doesn't mean that it is a copy of Reinhardt. Sure, some concepts and/or heroes are similar, but even so, the games were in development at the same time, Overwatch just happened to come out first. Everyone needs to stop ranting about how Paladins is copying Overwatch and just enjoy whatever fucking game you want to play. I like the game but it needs more gamemodes (e.g. horde mode) and new characters (e.g. litch lord. With abilities such as deathly curse which would reduce health regeneration and walkspeed. Summon minion which would summon a melee based unit. Deathbolt fires a green skull which does x amount of damage. Resurrection brings a teammate back to life with 35% health. Ultimate would be soul burst which would be an aoe effect ability which does 1500 damage with health regen damage.)

capture point, like above but the round would end when the point was captured and first to 5 caps won. Siege, the original mode, where capping the point would spawn a "Siege" engine which you would escort to the enemy camp, and it would fire at the gates (the gates obviously aren't there any more) to break through. each camp had two gates and a vault, and first to get enough Siege engines and break through both gates and the vault won. (the attacking team would defend the Siege engine and could help damage the gate, the defenders would try destroy the siege engine) Regular payload, those were by far my favorite maps. The current capture then payload mode. Survival mode, where in each round each player would have one life and the last team standing won the round, first to 5 (also there was a fog that caused damage that started at the edge for the map and would slowly shrink forcing the players together) Though it never had all the modes at once, it always had at least 2.

I believe it's a lot different in gameplay; this is more MOBA what with the items and possible deck builds. OW seems more FPS. For example, with the sole sniper character in Paladins, Kinessa, I can create a five-card deck where I can lifesteal about 300 per charged shot, have x% of movement speed while scoped, etc. The items can enhance those, too.

+Matt E tf2 is somewhat pay to win tho to get good weapons you have to open crates and to open crates you need keys and to get keys you have to pay money and then you only have an extremely small chance of getting the weapon you want. In paladins the only thing that's in crates is cosmetic changes and very small stat change in the form of cards other than that every bomb king has the same abilities and weapons very much like in overwatch
