I’d buy am MDX type S or gv80 without the blink of an eye The RX is a weak offering while the MDX and gv80 are the strongest Asian offerings offering same if not better luxury, comfort, performance, tech, handling, space If it were on a bespoke platform not shared with lesser Toyotas, a lot more luxurious inside as in as luxurious as an LC500, and it has the proper luxury features to truly compete, it would be an instant winner

Car companies think it's ok the put turbo 4cyl powertrains in 4700Lbs+ vehicles, especially premium products, and charge big bucks for it is beyond me. The non-euro competition is disappointing this is a really lovely car design wise but the interior needs work for the $68k-$70K+ Lexus is asking meaning there should be more stitched surfaces most of the dashboard is injected molding as well as the upper door and the lower door hard touch cheap plastic. For the most expensive RX model the seat adjustments are only 10 ways really and no massage it's great that both the back and front are heated and cooled plus the back has power fold and reclined. Another thing Lexus/Toyota is doing is penny-pinching with the options most of the options I just said are not standard on the 500h even the pano roof like what type of euro stunt Lexus is pulling Acura has done a great job on their most expensive and powerful MDX I guess we know why they took so long to give us a new RX they really didn't try hard enough shame Lexus really shame I am not impressed.

My wife and I considered the MDX Type S but two things steered us away from that car; worse MPGs (19/24) and the lack of touch screen on it's entertainment system which we found quite odd. We currently have 4 Hondas and the oldest being a 2006 Odyssey and they've brought us nothing but undeniable reliability and dependability from the time when our kids were small until they became old enough to drive them which they continue to do in the past few years. Since our daughters have taken my wife's 08 Honda CRV for college, this is the reason why we were in the market to getting another car for her; something that has great power, MPG's, reliability and provides a nice and comfortable ride. We're currently waiting for a white exterior with red interior to arrive at the dealership which I'm hoping will be within the next 30 days or so fingers-crossed.

Is this rx using avs or swing valve suspension? I order rx350 premium in Vietnam & only swing valve suspension, not AVS as rx350 luxury. I quite wonder abt smoothly, softly & comfortable between two types of suspension, do you have any idea?

I just got one, the 500h; you need to hold traction in for 3 seconds so its off all the way, then sport mode and then take off. Its quicker than the numbers suggest. No one for some reason takes traction off.

The Mark Levinson sound system and the 360 camera are currently in parts shortage. That's why they aren't standard features on the top trims.

As someone who drives an Avalon (2019) and actually wants a Lexus SUV- would you say that the NX is a fair trade off to the point where I don’t break the budget by jumping for a top tier RX, but still get similar comfort (out of the NX)? Or would I be better looking elsewhere for an SUV?

I think you'll definitely feel more at home with the RX when it comes to overall space and comfort. The NX is a little smaller but the luxury is there

Its funny that you mention that 1.3 seconds quicker for the 500H vs the 350. A 130K X6M does 0-60 in 3.5-3.7 and a 70K X5 does 0-60 in 4.8-5.0 :) This is a way cheaper 1.3S upgrade than BMW gives!

You miss the point. As you can see, people don’t think like you before they decide what car to buy. Every car has its target market. The RX doesn’t compete with those toyotas. Performance and speed are not the only reasons people buy cars. Performance can mess up other likable qualities of a car, such as quietness and comfort. Sometimes it’s more important to make the car more comfortable at the expense of performance. Sometimes it’s a matter of striking a balance of everything, including cost. This car is an equal alternative to German cars like GLE, X5. If a GR Yaris outperforms a GLE 350 on sportiness and speed that doesn’t make it a better car than the benz.

@@aezean5618 you can have performance AND quietness AND comfort AND luxury Take the MDX type S. Or the genesis gv80 or Lincoln aviator. You can get all of those qualities while sacrificing nothing Also no you’re wrong. This barely nicer stretched rav4 / lifted Camry is not an alternative to the Germans. It’s simply not. That award goes to genesis and Acura and Lincoln. Also if a GR Yaris outperforms a GLE just on sportiness sure thats fine. A mainstream car outperforming a luxury car is common but you have to look at the whole package. Of course the Benz is better than a GR Yaris. You immediately see all of that outside inside and behind the wheel.
