BiS wepon for hunters is Whispering Eldritch Bow. It's good not for the stats, but for unique corruption, that auto-shots reduce cooldown of a random (offensive abilities are preferred) hunter ability by 2 seconds. Which drastically affects rotation. 485 Mythic Nzoth gun is just a stat stick

I got the LFR version on my second DS run, and had it for most of patch 4.3 until my guild cleared DS about four times and me being the only one in the raid that used two handed weapons I got it by default, that was my favourite time to play as I was our main tank blood dk, and I had full PVP gear, and an Unholy DPS set with gurthalak I could do easily 45-60k dps, good times.

So the thing about Fury in MOP, there was this particular rotation that we would use to do really high burst dmg and top charts instantly and be there the whole encounter. I believe it went like this, you would charge, cast avatar and reckless and use colossus smash and then storm bolt. BAck then Storm bolt had an affect where if the enemy was immune to stuns it would do x4 dmg on top of the colossus smash allowing any dmg to ignore armor and with reckless and avatar multiplying the dmg even further so at the get go of an encounter fury warriors had their storm bolt crit for like 2 mil sometimes higher.

Actualy as fury endgame all you needed was 3x +34Arp gems from Jc since you were capped from items iff you were BiS,or iff you had a warrior main tank,you could just stack all str gems items gave you 90%arp and constant sunder armor gave you the rest needed.I was doing 34-38k Dps on Lod with that setup.

In Wotlk I remember almost every physical dps was stacking armor penetration. Usually to a softcap so that you would hit 100% with a trinket proc. But in ICC you could manage to run around with 100% armor pen all the time which was pretty insane especially for warriors since their rage generation scaled with the stat. So you'd see everybody socket for pure armor pen. But actually if you were really really geared out in ICC heroic gear you could drop some armor pen sockets. Crazy Times blizz kinda fucked up the scaling in that expansion. You could also hit 100% crit with a fire mage, or mages in general I don't remember.

While you are right about hunters being one of the top DPS for BFA, the gun off of N'zoth isn't the reason for it - off of one of the earlier bosses, Skitra, a bow drops that gives your autoshots the effect of reducing the cooldown of one of your random hunter abilites by 2 seconds. Given that the current 'meta' for beast mastery (the 'main' hunter spec nowadays) is about getting your major abilities (Bestial Wrath, Kill Command, Barbed Shot, etc) off CD asap, this bow just does so much more work for hunters than the raw DPS of the gun - that isn't to say the gun has bad stats, though.

You forgot the fact that in BC Steady Shot didnt use ammo dps, and since Thoridal didnt use ammo it had more dps than any other ranged weapon using Timeless Arrow (the epic arrow), making its steady shots the most powerful in the game.

Uh... WOD's Top dps was Arcane mage.... by a MILE... Talking about mythic fights that lasted 12 seconds stacking 18 mages because they could burst 5-6x the damage of any other class in the game. Sub rogue was the next highest but it honestly wasn't even close. Legion was a toss up depending on if the fight was cleave/single target/aoe. I'm wondering where you got your numbers from because most of the information from the more recent expansion is actually just? wrong? Check Warcraftlogs, Fury warrior had the best straight single target in legion, spriest won out in cleave situations (although warlocks were more busted on progression because they could heal 90% of their health bar literally every global while channeling drain soul). This was until the nerf to the content went out through empowering the artifacts (max concordance). but you still didn't see windwalker monks on the top of... literally any fight? The closest they came to being top dps was on Argus where the top dps was beat out by 100,000 dps by a frost mage.

Best burst =/= best dps. Arcane had the best burst over all but not all together dps. Logs dont work well for arcane in WoD purely because the 12 second fights fucking up the curve.

His recent ones are correct. Cata, MoP and WoD are all wrong though. Fury Warrs dominating in MoP, really? WW Monks were top Dps in Antorus, and SPs were a pure downgrade from our Aff Lock brothers except for Kin'Garoth, because that fight could be abused by SP VF timings. Logs where the entire raid is afk so the Fury Warr can abuse the logs with the stacking Execute dmg don't count, neither do really short S2M cheese logs at the end of the expansion. They are not an accurate represenation of how those specs performed in actual combat. Sure, Fury Warrs were still there in the top of the meters, but WW Monks were clearly the most overtuned spec in Antorus, even if they might have been outscaled by BiS gear at the very end of the expansion. WW in Antorus was the perfect example of a spec with poor scaling and bad dmg in the previous raid, so Blizzard just tuned their base numbers through the fucking sky.

Nope. Naxx gear lasted almost until level 70 for the most part. I remember my Dreadnaught legs (warrior T3 legs) were better than the T4 tank legs. My alt with BWL gear didn't replace most of it until after level 65. And some of the trinkets would last until you literally got a level 70 epic to replace them (IIRC Slayer's Crest and some of the other Sapphiron trinkets).

@9:18 is misleading. Combat Rogues were considered really bad DPS for most of Cataclysm, and only became viable towards the very end when Blizzard completely re-worked blade flurry and gave them an insane amount of buffs. I distinctively remember playing a Rogue in a 25 man guild, and being forced to play Combat for the wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Savage_Combat at my Guild Leader's request. None of the other Rogues wanted anything to do with the spec because of how laughably bad it's DPS was.

i'm amazed arcane mages weren't #1 for Wotlk. By the end of it they changed mage armor to regen % mana back which was totally busted for BiS mages. Metagoblin, not true :( Thoridal had around same attack speed on bm hunter as 3.0 speed ranged weapons. Its because quiver was giving you -15% attack speed. The bow was op mainly because steady shots didnt gain from arrows but base weapon dmg. And well, Thoridal adds dmg of arrows to base weapon dmg. And therefore was increasing dmg of steady shot significantly.

Knowing how to weave spells even in just MC can boost your dps by about 200 i say this as i beat 3 or 4 better geared mages in my raid and they beat me by about 100SP

Went 2600 in 3s in cata season 11 with 3 dps we had a ret off healing cuz of the 2 set from dragon soul but each of us had a heroic 2 set I think the rogue just used legs we had heroic proc trinks *Vial of Shadows was the one me and rogue used* and heroic deathwing weps *or legendaries for the rogue* Orc Hunter BE Rogue BE Ret the damage and control was too much and nobody expected 3dps to reck shit and it was an odd comp but because of the silences form the BEs and the utility we had it was extremely hard to stop our burst funnest time Ive ever had on wow only compares to when I took over timeless isle

during the time it came out it was one of the best PVP weapons for a warrior. 4 sec stun that proc'd all the time with NO DR. i believe in patch 2.3 i think they nerfed the proc rate but it used to be completely OP. even if it technically wasnt the hardest hitting weapon in the game it still should be an honorable mention ofc

Fang of the pit did not have perfect stats for sub, as you wanted multistrike and crit mainly. Also the skitra bow is still ahead of the nzoth weapon, even with the added ilvl, just because of the corruption effect. Other than that great video !

Fury warriors were NOT considered bad early WotLk lol. Fury was 1# Dps in BiS t7 gear. They were so OP that they got a flat 10% dmg nerf going into Ulduar. Despite that, they did respectable numbers in Ulduar once they got some gear, and in ToGC and ICC they were obviously back on top again. Also, I have no idea which logs you are looking at, but your "top Dps this expansion" is wrong every time. Combat Rogues, while good in Cata, were beaten by Arms Warriors (wearing Gurthalak as you said), Demo Locks and Fire Mages. Rogues with Legendary weapons could compete, but with regular weapons they had no chance. Fury Warrs were just generally good in MoP. They were compareable to SV Hunters, Combat Rogues and Arcane/Fire Mages. These specs were all quite OP compared to some of the other classes. Problem was, Warlocks were even more OP than these other OP classes, on a level of their own. MoP Warlock is famous for being the "most OP PvE class" of all time, and that includes earlier broken shit from TBC and Classic. Feral Druids were also insane in MoP, but they were a pure ST spec, while Warlocks excelled at everything, ST, 2-target Cleave, Multidotting AND mass AoE. Arcane Mages were completely broken at the end of WoD, not Rogues. Rogues were good in general, but couldn't touch Mages. At least you got Legion right. WW Monks truly were out there. If anything, it sounds like you were looking at logs for the prepatch to the next expansion, so Dragon Soul with full BiS gear with MoP talents, and Siege of Orgrimmar with full BiS gear and WoD talents etc.

Arms was way better than Fury during Dragon Soul. Your Shadow Priest(s) should have destroyed you on Madness of Deathwing, or any other fight with more than 1 spread target. And Ele Shamans were fucking useless back then. One of the worst PvE specs in the entire game (bad scaling with gear). If you had an Ele Shaman on top, he was either the best player in the world, or your guild sucked.

@@christophercombs7561 Imagine being a Warrior main yourself in Cata, and not knowing that Arms was the 1# single target spec in the game in t11. Or did you think Arms got these huge nerfs going into t12 just for fun? Fury was played in t12 only because Arms got nerfed (because it was OP as fuck in t11). Ofc, Fury also happened to scale really hard and also became OP with t12 gear, so that got nerfed aswell. Then Arms was the best again in t13. Arms has NEVER been as good as it was in Cata for PvE. Not before, not since. If it wasn't for those nerfs after t11, nobody who knew what they were doing would have touched Fury for the entire expansion. And yeah, we talking about Cata, not WotLK. I know that you wrote WotLK in your initial comment, but the context of your entire comment was about Cata, so I assumed you misstyped WotLK instead of Cata. Fury was obviously the go-to in WotLK.

Most busted weapon isnt necessarily the one which the top dps of the expansion uses. Just because the class itself is busted, doesnt mean that the weapon they used were the best.

Man I really despise how they gave us the most powerful weapons in Warcraft lore in Legion for free, and now they're completely useless and weaker than greens. I get that this used to happen every expansion, but there's a difference between "Might of Menethil is weaker than Firemaul of Destruction" and "Ashbringer is useless."

for vanilla it's not true that Gressil, Dawn of Ruin (classic.wowhead.com/item=23054/gressil-dawn-of-ruin) is the best weapon 1h, Misplaced Servo Arm was stronger (classic.wowhead.com/item=23221/misplaced-servo-arm) since u can debuff the enemies' nature resistence with Thunderfury's Proc (-25 nature resistence) and with Curse of Elements (-75 nature resistence) and in vanilla when a resistence goes on minus values., that type of damage get some skyrocket multipliers.

I don’t get the mop one. Why did you chose Fury warrior? affliction lock was clearing the top DPS on almost every fight. And the ones it didn’t, fury was nowhere to be seen. Also, in MoP, technically the tanks were the top DPS if you really want to go off logs.

dude idk how it was for you but much more people wanted hungering cold than gressil on my server back in the day, also hungering cold is a much better rouge weapon than gressil, for warriors its subjective weather you like hc or gressil more, adn furt warrior min/max is thunder fury and hc

Ok, calm down everyone, let's not loose our heads. The original stat stick is the feral druid main hand weapon. Why? Because "back in the day" of vanilla wow feral druid had no spells or abilities that went off weapon damage. Meaning, they could literally have a lvl 1 grey item and still do good damage, they would only be missing the stats. That's all their weapon was used for period. In vanilla wow, every one used their ranged weapons, you had to. Warriors often pulled with their ranged weapons cause charging in instances usually got you killed. And lastly, most ranged weapons didn't have stats on them. As the years went by and expansions dropped, we leveled and got stronger, we didn't need/use ranged weapons as much. Soon, they too became stat sticks. Then, without warning, the WoW God's took them away! Lol. Oh, well.

Arms in t11. Fury in t12 (because Arms got nerfed after being too OP in t11), Arms again in t13 (because Fury got nerfed after being OP in t12). Arcane was only good in t11 BiS gear (with the trinket from Sinestra) and t12. Once they broke the trinket, Mages dropped hard, and they went Fire once they got the t13 4-set bonus. MM was the go-to Hunter spec in T11 and t12, and then SV in t13 (huge flat dmg buffs to SV going into 4.3). Hunters were always 2#. Top tier all expansion, but there was always one or two specs better than them. Ofc, Shadow Priests would dominate them all on any fight with more than 1 target, because of absolutely broken multidotting. Anybody who complains about current multidotting in retail, obivously didn't play during Cata (Shadow Priests) or MoP (Warlocks).

Why would warriors use a fast off hand when whirlwind benefits from the off hands damage as well making slow dual wield better . But I didn’t play vanilla only tbc . And in tbc the best weapon for warriors war MH glaive and OH mounting vengeance

For a long time warriors had a fury talent that gave them a 40% chance to gain 1 rage when they hit with a melee attack. Back then none of your abilities used your offhand weapon damage - just your mainhand. So the speed of your offhand didn't affect your Bloodthirst, WW, Heroic Strike, Cleave, or executes. Only your autoattacks mattered, so weapon speed didn't really effect your offhand dps. A faster offhand would generate more rage from Unbridled Wrath, though.

Stormherald was only good for PVP. I raided T5 as our raid's arms warrior and Gorehowl outperformed Stormherald because of Axe spec.
