All comedy is derived from fear, and relies on the sudden switch of emotions. Crying can be a response to any strong emotions and I wouldn't be surprised if the combination of fear and then surprise and then joy that is usually felt with a joke could register as a more powerful emotional response then any of the emotions separately. Also, I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are talking about but a lot of people cry when laughing extra hard.

I started this video thinking it would be totally different than my list of most relatable songs, because relatibility depends on personal experience. And I knew Time To Seize The Day wouldn't be on the list, people rarely mention it. That song and I Could If I Wanted To were the two most relatable songs for me and when I saw you made them number 3 and 2 I couldn't believe it... made me happy and sad, feel something weird beetween the two, thank you! Heavy boobs is definitely on the list for me along with all those other ones.😂 Maybe not many could relate to this, but "After Everything I Did For You That You Didnt Ask For" is also super relatable to me with my family. And I never even realized it until watching the show awhile back, and hearing that title in the song and it was like a realization dawned on me. Now I hear that song everytime my family members say "I did this for you so you have to do this for me", like thanks, but I didnt ask for you to do this, nor did I want you to. Its no wonder I have a serious problem with accepting money, gifts, or favours from people... 😅

As someone with mental illness issues/chronic health issues, "My Diagnosis" and "Anti Depressants Are Not A Big Deal" are both relatable and really reassuring. Though I still sing "You Ruin Everything" to myself when feeling extra down, I sing "Anti Depressants" every night when I take mine.

I actually don't relate to any songs on the list because, as you said, people are different. I relate a lot to "Oh My God I Think I Like You" and "It Was a Shit Show", but both because I had this weird experience of really liking someone that had nothing in common with me and having to break up with him because we could not get along, despite our feelings. The songs that made me feel most seen are actually "Where's the Bathroom" and "Maybe She's Not Such a Heinous Bitch After All", which are extremely relatable to anyone with a narcissist mother, but not at all to most people.

My mom is not a narcissist, but she has no filter, I've certainly had my share of "you're looking healthy".. She would totally try to look inside my shirt to see the eczema. On a deep level it's very relatable for most people. "Why I am the way I am" is quite universal.
