When I decided to quit drinking the first time my friends didn't know. That Saturday I was with friends and was offered a beer. I said no, I decided to stop drinking. They insisted but I said no thanks. I'm happy without it. Then one of them started calling me a Jesus Freak. I raised my hand and said "guilty"! I soon learned that these people were never my friends in the first place. I think everyone should try that test to see who your real friends are.

I’ve heard similar stories. My cousin and brother both struggled with alcohol and their friends knew and pressured them to drink if they tried to stop. My cousin would go to restaurants before her other friends and order a virgin drink so they would THINK she was drinking and not bother her. My brother tired to quit and I met him and my dad at a restaurant and my dad bought two drinks and put one in front of my brother very dramatically. And my brother started drinking again. I do NOT understand this.

Unlike the City Select by BabyJogger, you can put the kids back to back and have them reclined or at least one can recline. Plus once you buy the attachments for the cityselect, it costs the same. Side by sides are annoying and are clumsy when used for just one child. You can also sell it off when you're done. It's called an umbrella stroller because the handles look like umbrella handle. Storage units can make sense if you're in the middle of moving or if you are homeless and temporarily in a shelter.

Uppababy is great to buy used. We have one that is 12 years old now and has gone through seven kids - three for the previous owner and four for us. Those strollers are tanks - and we only paid $200 for ours used

Tbh, the trash can cleaning is worth it every so often. Especially in FL because of all the bugs!! I’m here for it.

I didn’t know the mosquito spray built into the backyard was a thing. Now I have something else I want to add to future dream home. I get pulverized by mosquitoes they love me and I end up looking like I have chicken pox so that seems like a necessity.😅😂

Try the Cutter backyard bug control spray. Lasts all summer.

George, after 4 kids i can say cheaper strollers they will also last just as long. Baby jogger is a great brand. But they’re all fine !

My wife and I just did Melting Pot. She asked (last time we went was over a decade ago.) It is one of her favorites, but we budget it out and rarely go.

I was listening to this while lifting at the gym and almost died at Rachel’s tattoo story. 1st when she said Dave almost pulled her tuition, then i composed myself and continued and again almost died when she said it was a Jesus fish 😂😂😂😂

I’m married without a Kitchen Aid Mixer, George. 😊 Never could afford one of those. Still have my hand mixer from when I got married 28 years ago that I was given off my registry.

Same here. Married 21 years without a KitchenAid mixer. It’s never been a high priority. My Black and Decker stand mixer from my bridal shower still works too. 👌

One thing I heard when I used to travel to Egypt (George) for work was a cultural norm in the Middle East that if you have been blessed enough financially to where you can afford to pay someone else to do something for you, then you shouldn’t do it yourself. If you do it yourself, you are taking away someone else’s opportunity to provide for their family.

I saw George’s reel where his dogs were playing in his backyard. He needs to hire new guys to mow his yard if he’s having to pay for that. They be slippin’ 😂

George and Rachel, I’m a big follower of your show. One thing you mention is looking finances as a married couple. What if my partner has priorities in a more expensive car than I do? Should we just pool finances for essentials (mortgage, insurance, food, vacation etc) and have the remainder go to our personal spending (clothes, car, miscellaneous)? Or should we include the more expensive car in the budget, because I make a good deal more than my partner?

Daily smoothies for the fam of four, every morning in our Vitamix!!! Then like blender healthy oat muffins/oven pancakes etc. in it. Use 1-3 times daily. Going strong for 7 years now. Best money spent!! 🙌

Hahaha I can relate to this marathon cost. $100 for every race fee, $150 flight, $250 hotel, food when there, $140 running shoes that have to be replaced multiple times a year, PT for the injuries. It is not a free hobby 😂

There’s a TON of lifted trucks here in Texas. My husband used to drive a lifted and stretched jeep. But his was for off-roading. That thing could rock climb. Very cool. But a lot of the big trucks are for show. It’s a certain kind of person in that drivers seat lol

Most ridiculous thing I can think of is subscription boxes. That's peak consumerism, when people can't even be bothered to do their own shopping, but instead pay someone else every month to send them random crap they wouldn't otherwise buy. "Receive $400 worth of items in each $180 monthly subscription box! Saves you $220, great deal!" If you weren't intentionally seeking the items in the box to fulfill a specific need you had, then you didn't save $220, you wasted $180.

Umbrella strolls are called that because they kinda look like an umbrella when folded up, not because they have a cover over them (although some do) :)

Yeah. When I was a kid, it was a 1 bedroom apartment and financial…stress. Now my dad wonders why I save so much and look for sales. 😮. He doesn’t remember what life was like 2 decades ago? Buying a house and getting good jobs in my teens doesn’t erase a childhood.
