@@cookingwithsindacobeautiful video, iam watching from Atlanta GA. I think the government should stop the big ships from China and Europe to come and fish in ghana waters. This is the reason why it's hard for the men to catch a good amount.

What an absolutely fantastic and mesmerising video. The beautiful majestic sea, vast, powerful, destructive yet a sustainer of life. Its abundance and bounty we depend on. We use it for leisure but must also respect its changeable and unpredictable nature. It has given us freedom, to traverse to the furthest places on this planet. I cannot live too far from the sea. Bless the hardworking people who make their living from it, at times it is hard and perilous. But also fun rewarding and liberating. Even in the storm the dark hue of the surface looks beautiful and then one can only marvel and admire that sunset which changes the sea to a pale orange. Thanks for sharing this with us and taking us to a place of dreams and wonder !

I know a fisherman from Tanzania. He used to fish most of his life on smaller boats out of Dar es Salaam area, like shown here. He told me that not once, but twice(!) he experienced that his boat sank, and he had to survive during the night swimming alone to stay afloat in the Indian ocean, until he was rescued next day. He was telling this story in a completely casual way, as if this was perfectly normal. He also caught black marlins on hand line. Something I find completely insane.

Thank you - Sindaco for this video which gives us an insight into the fishing industry in a way we have never seen before. We need to help them and not put them down. Definitely, technology can help them but it takes organizations that have such knowledge to help them. The fishermen and canoes were the ferry system between the ships that parked two miles out in the Atlantic Ocean and the shore until the Takoradi Harbour and Tema Harbour were built. The Gold Coast and Ghana's entire mercantile trade depended on our fishermen and their canoes that were hewed from tree tranks! We have never thanked our Fishermen for their tremendous service! The technology for helping them exists - space satellite information and GPS devices that can take the fishermen to the location of schools of fish! Thanks again! May God richly bless you!

Thanks for watching and loving it. Yes they really need support but this problem is there’s no investors in the country to invest in that sector and the government is also not helping. So It a really big problem for them. Again they also need knowledge or education about the fish tracker and the technological devices that can help them.

I come from a tradition of fishing in the Atlantic. There is a saying..” Red sky at night, a sailor’s delight…Red sky in the morning, Sailors take WARNING”. When I look at your boats, the way you haul them on the beach,, very similar to the old way they used to fish. Today all the commercial fish is done with large boats, and the fishers are mostly paid help. Today it costs big money to fish commercial, and like you said, if they don’t catch large amount of fish they loose money. They work for nothing. Same in many places. Be safe, and good luck !
