Bro really did Bayek dirty with this bathhouse towel outfit 😭 Assassin's Creed series has had a lot of amazing locations, but my favorite world overall has got to be Egypt from AC Origins. It's unbelievably well designed and it deserves way more praise then it gets. The regions are distinct, but also blend into each other quite naturally. There are big cities like Alexandria, Memphis and Cyrene. Big deserts that make you feel like an ancient wanderer. Lush oases and green swamps. Huge mountains and rocky hills. Massive fields split by water canals. Little villages and bandit camps. It's awesome! I also love the structure of the game. Origins is basically a huge journey. Odyssey, if you will. When Bayek is tasked with assassinations by Cleopatra, he is free to go and explore. However, the game very subtly tells you what is the right order, which makes the progression from one region to another extremely seamless and natural. Despire the huge size of the world, I never felt overwhelmed with content, because it was very easy to plan out the journey in an optimal way. And I just love the idea of a wandering Medjay who travels Egypt and helps the civilians on his way. It just feels RIGHT. Basically all side quests in Origins feel IN CHARACTER for Bayek. After all, he's the PROTECTOR. It makes sense that he takes time to help smallfolk with hippos, rescues the rebels, assassinates evil Ptolemy commanders and protects the weak from the bandits. For example, Valhalla has this problem that a lot of these little side encounters are kinda absurd and at odds with the Viking persona of Eivor. Side quests in Origins (despite no cutscenes and worse lip sync) feel more natural and immersive. Origins has one of the most memorable and immersive open world games I've ever seen (and I played RDR2, Elden Ring, Cyberpunk and all the other heavy hitters). It's extremely underrated IMO.

Beauty is subjective, of course, but I think what wasn't mentioned in both of the videos is from AC Valhalla Wrath of the Druids DLC. I loved the bright green hills and how the sun and clouds were leaving shadows on the larger hills in the northern area of the map near Lough.

Odyssey and Origins is literally a piece of art everywhere you go, the history around it phenomenal. Valhalla was pretty boring, Unity is absolute class, the details in that game is beyond exceptional. Havana and the islands were a nice vacation feeling in Black Flag, Turkey in Revelations is seriously interesting and lovely vibe, Italy in the first AC games was such a classic and if they were to recreate those games today they would look absolutely mad. Basically, AC is such a beautiful franchise

I loved many vistas and real world iconic counterparts etc... And as much as I did love those epic moments or explorations, they don't quite live up to the feelings or memories of personal experiences I have had throughout the years where I was lost in the game for a brief time, and multiple elements came together at the perfect moment. I was in the right (or wrong) place to experience them. I feel this could happen anywhere, and they live on much more vividly in the memory than maybe designed architectural or geographical spectacles. Some personal examples... - AC Revelations: On a high exploring and I drop down onto a low wooden pole and stop. It's fast approaching night, and there is a stream of water running off through a poor looking district. The way the camera settled when I hit that pole was so perfect. I was loving the visual, yet the local environmental audio added so much. The ASMR with the folks going by.... I sat back and sipped my red wine for a solid four or five minutes. Just to soak in the changing light and what was going on with the SCENE. - AC Black Flag: Stumbling upon the biggest type of ship in the game (early on) landlocked on the sands of a very small isle. So desperate to experience everything, but it was early morning, and I remember, again, simply leaving the controls alone and having a moment. - AC Origins: The perfection of having zero icon clutter on a part of the lower map that yielded some of the best memories. Just desert, but specifically placed and sculpted sandstone rock formations and other very minor details, and one of those ancient things that I had personally was done with, at that time. Many more "stunning locations" that are probably only stunning to me at that time and in a specific frame of mind. But I'm sure everyone understands what I'm speaking of.

Paris during the French revolution probably had the best artistic expression compared to other AC locations. I don’t think another AC game will be as detail unless they pick like Moscow or Dubai or any city that’s not known for its artistic design. If they did a remake of the ezio trilogy we get something better than unity.
