I loved that you told this story of silk weaving in your book, since I come from a city like Valencia, in Spain, where there are still some companies that weave silk manually, what we know as "espolín", which is a cornerstone of folk clothing in the celebration of our local festival. I loved "The fabric of civilization". Many of the stories that you documented in the book have served as inspiration for my own fashion and science scicomm project. Thank you!

Your videos are so informative. Could I suggest though that you turn the background music volume down? It’s so loud that it distracts from being able to hear you

I have investigated this music problem and, contrary to what I myself thought, I was told that how loud the music is depends on the specific computer the watcher is using. The only thing I could possibly do is completely redo the video from scratch and hope that the ratio between the narration and the music--which I did work hard on--would be better. I'd rather make some new videos (stay tuned).

The machine seems to be largely made of wood. It’s just astonishing how skilled our ancestors were in pre-industrial times.
