That mask isn't even purple wtf. It's blue. Also, the girl she was inspired by STILL has damaged hair, regardless of how healthy it looks. That's just a fact of having bleached hair. Styling it and using products helps the appearance, but the damage is still there. As always, thank you for the hair tips!

yes! exactly! I had bleached my hair several times in my life to nearly white and people often complimented me how "healthy" it looked. But I was honest and said- trust me, it's not...you have to see the hair if it is freshly washed without any product applied and air dried. I bet she won't be able to even comb it out and it takes hours to air-dry because it's like a sponge. The reason I switched back to my natural brown hair is because it's just too high high maintenance to always bleach it, especially if it's longer. I understand the appeal. But now my taste changed, and for me healthy hair is always the most attractive and beautiful- regardless the color. Not everyone has to be blond.

This! My hair is extremely soft and feels amazing, everytime I'm at Sally's they want to feel it because they can't believe it feels that good when I've been bleaching for about 9yrs with long breaks in-between and even I know my hair is damaged. It may be a lot healthier than alot of other people who bleach but I just have gotten lucky. I also immediately after bleaching shampoo and do 2 sets for conditioner. The second set I let sit in my hair for a bit and I also produce a lot of natural oils it's actually annoying, my dad has the same problem we can shower in the morning and by bed time it looks greasy. Bleaching helps cut down on it but not completely. It's actually a big reason why I still bleach, it helps me not have to shower 2x a day sometimes more if it's a super hot day outside or im sick running fevers. No one is going to be able to bleach and come out unscathed. But that's why you gotta take care of it, listen to your stylist and dont fuck around and find out lol

Finally someone explains that toner can hurt and does/can damage your scalp and hair after bleaching. My previous, previous, hairdresser told me that toner is just like "water". She "explained" to me that toner doesn't damage your hair/scalp after I explained to her after I bleached my hair myself at home, I wanted to go platinum but decided just to go blonde, that all my hair completely feel off and burned my scalp. It was immense seering, burning pain. Even the employees at Sallys basically said the same thing to me. My scalp felt fine and my hair held together after bleaching 3 times. I went from a level 1 to like a level 7. I decided I wanted my hair light enough for the dyes I normally use to be vibrant but also kind of wanted to maybe go platinum. As soon as I toned my hair, I wasn't planning to dye right away and I've been doing my hair at home for over 35 yrs and never had a problem during those yrs, my hair fell completely off in clumps after rinsing it in the shower leaving me bald! She had the audacity to tell me that toner was basically "water" and that what happened to me does not happen so I was wrong. Like I think I know. I was holding the clumps in my hand as I was rinsing the toner out! It burned so bad and of course she told me that basically I didn't know what I was talking about, etc, etc. Needless to say I have a new hairdresser now. So I feel better knowing I wasn't crazy from this video. This happened over 5 yrs ago. My hair grows fast and wigs were my best friend. I did eventually get to a level 9 on my own and have dyed it multiple colors. I kept up my roots after this fiasco. Thank you, now I can rest easy.

All the bleach, toner, purple… products in addition to the precision & time necessary just doesn’t seem worth it. Especially since the ends (well more like the nape down) looked very damaged. I’d be scared it’d fall out if I used more products! MY advice: stay close to ur natural color and leave coloring to professionals who know how to DO what HB is talking to us about! But who doesn’t love a bleach fail? 😂

My hairs naturally like a level 2/3 and I love experimenting with fashion colors-once in HS I had the bright idea to ask my hairdresser to make me platinum from my home-done green and for reasons unbeknownst to me she said yes. The toner burned like hell but as she checked + rinsed + finished the style she said everything was hunky dory, I paid and tipped of course. I get in my car and run my fingers through my hair to pull my hand back streaked with blood and sebum. In the end I had multiple really bad chemical burns on my scalp and even now years later I have various problems in those areas. It didn’t even look good and I dyed it myself as soon as I could stand it! I still have fun with color but will neverrrrr try blonde again hahaha

I think its better to bleach the roots every 2 our 4 month , because a good toner can make the hair even . In this 2 or 4 month can the hair growth healthy , and there is not so much risk to overlapping . I want to let my hair grow butt long , i bleach my roots only every 4 month when you bleach your roots to often it is very bad for your hair , you have more breakage . The banding problem for me it's not a problem , with a good toner you can make your blonde even . I have naturly dark blonde hair and i like the style when the roots are growing , 3 times in a year i bleach my roots with 20 vol. and tone my hair with 7 vol . I love my long white blonde Hair and i don't want it to damaged to much !

If you don't have the energy to color your hair correct: GO TO A HAIRDRESSER! I had natural blond hair but it went darker over time. So I put a platinum box dye on and cut a side cut. It was fun. But my hair was fucked. Some years went by, my hairdresser cut my hair to a nice Bob. But I hated my natural color and the short hair. We decided to color my hair to a nice blond. It's not bleached it's colored but with 12%. So I have a nice blond. Not white. I don't need white. I like the more natural blond tone. I would call it golden but my hairdresser said it's more ashy. But it hurts every 6 to 8 weeks my scalp is on 🔥. 🤣 That's the price you have to pay if you want nice blond hair. I also use a oil shampoo from L'Oreal professional and a bonding treatment from Schwarzkopf as my hair hates my hairdresser. Detangeling and blowdrying is so time consuming. You detangeling my hair let it sit for 2 seconds and it's tangled again. With absolute zero movement. I'm actually stuck at shoulder length because it brakes and tangles. Funny point: my hairdresser also says that my hair is healthy. But it acts like it's dry. Maybe my hair is this way. I always struggled with it. It was always hard to dry and brush.

After bleaching, I dyed my length 4 shades of blue.
