Life is about seeing ourselves as who we truly are, but what you get wrong is that the goal in itself is to accept ourselves. We have to submit to God, redefine our indentity in Jesus Christ and reject ourselves. See, the problem we inherently face is our own nature defined by egoism, greed and different variants of lust. To ignore this and say that these obvious problems will go away if you just accept yourself is completely absurd. I sense that your search for truth is honest. If you read Seraphim Rose I think you might find that the bigger puzzle of life will start to make more sense.
