The Most TOXIC Game of Commander | Box Brawl Phyrexia: All Will Be One

This week on Box Brawl the gang plays Phyrexia, and it gets very, very toxic.

Box Brawl is a series of Magic: The Gathering KZbin videos that seeks to answer two questions: what would happen if we played through every single set of Magics history and who would be named its champion at the end of it? Well, Charlie "MoistCr1tikal" "penguinz0", Matt, Ryan, and Drew are doing exactly that, playing through some modified sealed/limited rules for the commander format, almost close to brawl. The game works like this:
Open a box of magic cards that hasn't been opened yet
Each player gets an amount of cards to build a 60 card deck out of, naming a commander along the way (which can be any creature, not restricted to legendary creatures)
Play a game and give points out based on placements, 3 for first, 2 for second, 1 for third, and 0 for last. Also the player that opens the most expensive card gets a point for free.
Eventually we will have played through all of the sets and at the end the player with the most points will be crowned the best magic player in the world, unquestionably. Along the way we'll laugh, we'll cry, and maybe we will have a few guests in the mean time. Stay tuned!!

When two elesh norn are on the field, they have what are called multiple replacement effects and multiple layer effects. Replacement effects usually start with "if" and have "instead" somewhere in the effect. A layer effect is a static change that isn't a replacement effects or triggered ability. When Charlie plays his elesh norn, his elesh norn has the newest timestamp so that is the layer currently affecting his opponents. BUT Charlie is still affected by Matt's elesh norn because Charlie's elesh norn's doubling effect is a replacement effect, not a layer effect. Furthermore, if two replacement effects would conflict outside this example, the affected player decides which one they want to use.

Random thought, I am newer to magic and thought it would be cool to hear an explanation of certain key words when they are fist dropped. Toxic/proliferate/battlecry were all new to me(you just kind of touch on them, but a more clear explanation would be helpful). I guess you could always look it up, but who’s got time for that. Also, your video’s have totally pushed me into the hobby keep up the great content your videos are awesome!

Drew could have ended the game earlier by using Kaito's ability to target the venrated rotpriest, causing it's ability to trigger and adding more poison counters to the other players.
