Warline is a 1-4 player tactical strategy game where you're trying to eliminate your opponent's kingdom and reign supreme using 1 out of 4 (six with the newest expansion) asymmetric factions. This is a game truly worth your time, and you should definitely check out the campaign if you're interested.

This is definitely our kind of game. Although I can understand the feedback about the components lacking character, I think the game is very beautifully made. Not every game needs a bunch of minis/plastic. Long time subscriber on my "watching" channel, but just wanted to come out and say: you are one of our absolute biggest inspirations. Every piece of content you make has such a caliber of quality, that many channels bigger than yours strive for. Thanks for always talking about the games that interest you, in an interesting way

I really like this game. I'm backing the expansion mostly to support the creator and get the 2 new factions. Maybe the solo/co op will be fun too. Also happy to get a neoprene mat. The only complaint I had about the components from the base game was the game board being a bit flimsy.

@Tim: I think the main reason why no one's talking about this game is because, although it does look really fun especially when listening to you explains it... You gotta admit, the board and ESPECIALLY the dice, just looks so darn bland and downright off putting (for me personally). If the game comes with acrylic standees of the armies (even just cardboard standees even) where you can slot the dice below it to make the battlefield pops? Hell then I'm all in on this! I mean, the artwork is already there, worst is you need a mold for the standee and the dice right? It'll make the game 10x more inviting. Even if it's just cardboard chits with unit artwork from a top down view to be placed underneath the dice would make the game a bit more interesting @Justin D Leingang: if you are reading this, please consider that option for your next expansion campaign launch

Yes that’s totally fair! I was thinking about it though… and like I don’t know how minis or standees would work here since you can stack units on top of each other and then taking damage/lightening units changes their number; maybe if the minis have a base that has a dial to record their level + a flat top for stacking? It sounds expensive to do but sign me up for those any day 🤣 As much as I would love to have individual minis for units 1-6, I think it’d be impractical to keep swapping out units for how frequent they change on the board so def ones with dials and somehow an ability to stack would be worth looking into! I am reading, indeed! Thank you for your thoughts. I have tried a couple things in the past: full color artwork on each die face and cardboard chits (2-inches large) with full color artwork. In the former case, even those these dice are huge (35mm), Chen's artwork is so highly detailed that when shrunk down that small it becomes noisy and unreadable. The original presentable prototype did have full color artwork on all sides of the dice - but the dice were a massive 50mm large (2-inches), which turned out to be prohibitively expensive to produce at the small print scale I am able to do (we are talking $52k just to manufacture 1,000 units). I do have every intent to, should Warline become highly successful, create a SuperDeluxe edition that has the 2-inch, full color artwork cubes. The cardboard chits were very cool, and I ran many sessions at conventions with them. However, in the end, they are flat... Going this route sucked dimensionality out of the game and lost a lot of the satisfying feeling that comes from manipulating the super-chunky dice. On that subject, holding and playing with the battalion dice feels incredible, and is one of the biggest draws to me as a player. RE minis or standees: These are both things I considered. The minis, not for very long, as they present far too many problems for gameplay in Warline's case. The form of the dice (cubes) plays into functional staples of the game design and also helps keep all attention focused where it matters - directly on the battlefield instead of off board on some status trackers. I too have thought about pseudo-minis and full color acrylic standees that the dice slot into (I even worked up some 3D render prototypes of the acrylics), but I still have not come to a satisfactory design that does not end up making gameplay awkward or fiddly. Another thing I have very highly considered doing is large-form, detailed minis as optional replacements for the kingdom screen card stands. I absolutely would love to offer these as optional add-ons, but I am not in any financial position at present to do so. Perhaps in the next campaign, after this one is successful? I am not sure this would satisfy what you are looking for, though, since they are not part of the gameplay and are not sitting on the battlefield. Your feedback means a lot to me! Fingers crossed that I successfully close out this campaign soon and continue elaborating on this franchise in the coming future. TLDR: I have tried a few things that worked nicely, but ultimately had some downside. Though, I do intend to do a SuperDeluxe edition that might address this issue you have with Warline. But, that will not come alive until I bring this "standard edition" to success.

Frost is by far the most overpowered. I tried the new ones, they are great, but macro management favors Frost way too much. Great game! BTW, we need more gameplay on yt for this game, so start from here.

In comparison to a lot of games (mostly in the card combat arena) this game looks and flows great by comparison. Different stroke and all that, but out of all the campaigns I wanna back in the next week. This game is leading g the charge.

Thank you for your video and content 😊 Bro, but I completely disagree with the title. I think it’s far-fetched, since the game gains mostly very positive reviews, and BGG overall mark: 7.7 is not a shame neither, even consider it masterpiece. I could find equally good game with worse rating. The problem with that game lies in low recognition and availability. If I can get it, I could spread the gospel. It’s a two-way street.

I find it interesting that I don't see Marvel Legendary mentioned anywhere on your videos. That's not to say there's a limited amount of board games, as there are too many, but one of the best PvPvE games on the market is Marvel Legendary. Hell, I am shocked Arkham Horror hasn't been previewed either. I am new to this page but an instant subscriber. I have a ton of quality board games but my collection grows each year (just don't have anyone to play with atm). I will definitely be buying that Phalanx table too. Keep up the solid work Tim!
