Everyone dogs on Boyle as a weirdo, but at the end of the day, he is, and always has been, a VERY competent detective who has solved a lot of crimes. His solves are always the best because while we know Jake is smart, Amy is intelligent, Rosa is tough, Hitchcock and Scully are...well, they are "detectives" - Boyle is mostly aloof. So seeing this very aloof character solve these cases when no other detective (and even captain Holt) can, its extremely satisfying. Love his character!!
