It is quite refreshing to see you incorporating your acquired knowledge from your trips to Okinawa.

I was taught this relaxing for striking or punching back in the 1960's. Nothing new if you don't practice sport Karate.

Good advice, keep relaxed. Your pointers were ingrained in me in every art I've ever been involved with. In Karate I'm a beginner all over again.

it reminds me the teaching of those two grandmasters in your previous videos who teach about total relax - I can't remember the exact video.

For some of these movements I found it enough to keep the arm relaxed and only use the rotator muscles of the lower arm near the moment of impact. Does this make sense to others?

Just wandering, is this not 1 way of the 2 for striking? I also did shotokan, and we've learned not to strike like a whip but like battering ram, Strong, maybe kind of "slow" but the amount of force was tremendous. They both work, don't get me wrong about that, I know how they feel, both of them. But isn't body type depended? Whip like strikes for lighter faster people And the battering type for heavier slower people? Speed is relative, some "slow" trainers I've had were still fast but hit like a truck and the fastest trainer I've had hit like a whip, that's why I know both of the strike types
