I’m old enough to remember the Froch fight live. I mean that wasn’t unexpected at all. Taylor was unbeatable at that point in the early rounds. And Froch proved to be an iron man. While Taylor essentially sweeped the first 6, Froch sweeped the back half beating the hell out of Taylor the final few rounds especially. Much like a different Taylor fighting another legend in Chavez, he was getting battered and it felt like a matter of when not if.

That wasn't a KO and if your Dad was proud of that then he has a low bar for his fighters. The single most disgraceful call in boxing history. Taylor was on his feet responding to Steele's commands and dumbass steele stops it with a few seconds left in the fight. What did he think, that Chavez was going to just appear like Raden in Mortal Kombat on top of Taylor and rip his head off? There wasn't time for Chavez to make it from the neutral corner to even lay a single glove of Taylor. Bad call by a mediocre at best referee.

Taylor was getting pounded throughout the fight. Look at his face after the fight. It was reported that he was urinating pure blood at the hospital. And he was never the same after Chavez. If anyone is to blame for the stoppage it should be Lou Duva who jumped up onto the apron and distracted Taylor's attention to referee Steele as he was asking him if he was OK. Taylor did not respond because he was looking at Duva act like an idiot in the corner. Shit even Chavez knew he wasn't responding as you can see in the video Chavez raise his gloves before Steele even begins to wave off the fight.

Not only is the Taylor stoppage the worst interference of all time I believe it to be a criminal act. People do face criminal charges in other lines of work for negligence. This outrageous stoppage caused Taylor's life to implode from that moment on.

I remember being a teenager and watching Richard Steele rob Meldrick Taylor of beating the undefeated legend Chavez. There was just no way to justify calling the fight with 5 seconds left when he got back up. Corruption at the highest level of boxing.

People commenting on Frochs vs Taylor don't get that Taylor had the fight won amd victory was snatched away from him with SECONDS left...🤫

Does anyone else remember the fight ref that starred in blazing saddles?? When I first saw him work a fight and realized that was his real voice I laughed out loud.

I lost my voice for three days after Tarver starched Jones. I just couldn't listen to Jones speak of himself in the third person anymore.

After the Taylor/Chavez fight the authorities bought in the three knocks to signify, to the ref, that 10 seconds of the round is left.

Ruiz made Joshua quit. I gotta give respect. People can say Joshua knocked out ruiz, and an L is an L. But Ruiz made a man rethink continuing and gave up.
