Actually managed to kill the wall of bears against the Trapper though which was awesome in the moment. But this then caused us to be ahead of the curve and have to do extra winning runs to unlock more mechanics to progress which sucks.

a little of both, the game is super unforgiving and deliberately skewed against the pc, which i think is fun for lore reasons >:) im nearly done the game myself and i so so hope that nl is able to make it through the story! im worried he might overlook some of the more nuanced bits because some stuff is super obscure, but im excited to watch it play out

The misplay of putting the squirrel in front of the submerged unit so the bear couldnt move allowing you but stronger to hit 2 empty spaces for 6 is fantastic.

Actually all bosses are bears, if you win to fast. Like you're supposed to fight the boss and lose the first time, if you don't then Shadow Man get angy and spawns and infinite number of bears. Technically possible to still win, but SUPER difficult

Yeh, the gameplay, theming and music is so good that I almost want to see it made into a full cardgame with roguelike modes and PvP. I do feel that the gameplay would need to be massively expanded and redesigned for that, however. LIke, the gameplay feels so "perfect" because it only lasts as long as the fascination can keep up with the current level of complexity and content.

I always put the Mantis sigil on either the stoat, wolf, or stinkbug. That sigil being attached to something with 2 health rather than 1 can make a huge difference, and upgrading it at a fire makes it absurd. Stinkbug nullifying attack power of opposing creatures is also primo. Mantis is definitely my favorite card

My thinking with the Geck is that it seems okay but if I wanted a free creature to sacrifice, id draw a squirrel. I think it comes into play when its later in a round when you run out of squirrels, which doesnt seem to happen too often.

It's free, but unlike the squirrel, it can actually deal 1 damage, which is useful when a lot of creatures only have 1 health. It's a squirrel that can kill something (especially if you decide to put poison touch on it).
