Awesome review. Hows the micro adjust on this? And overall weight?
@BeansAndBezels3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, there is no micro-adjust. Dietrich does include some variable length links to attempt a better fit. But this requires bracelet adjustment tools.

@@BeansAndBezels do you think the SD-2 will be larger in dimensions?

I really like their modern spin on the genre. The lume is seriously cool as well as is the bracelet. Very impressive 👍

Death match: SD1 vs Fairwind. Which do you choose?

Fairwind.

Beautiful design, but i would not be willing to shell out about 900€ (inluding taxes, i believe) for this. Not that they need me to 😆

Fair enough! I think this watch is not for everybody, and that's ok!

With the watch world full of divers, do we need another? While this watch maybe a big departure for the brand, it is not really unique enough, in my opinion, to command the asking price. Just look at a Bathyal blue Hailos Fairwind with ceramic bezel and/or a blue Tuseno Shellback to get my point. The question of micro brands holding their value is an open one but, man, just look at some of their prior efforts selling for 65% or 70% off list price. However you are holding the watch and therefore you have the high ground! Great content and comprehensive commentary. I had to look up "biomorphic."

To your first question - I'm heavily biased, so I will say yes! I love divers, even though my divers spend 99.99% of their lives above water. I love the Fairwind, and the Shellback looks like a decent watch too, but I think the SD1 is attempting something quite different. And it may or may not be for everybody. As for the secondary prices of their previous offerings - I totally agree with you, and that's not a good look for any brand. And since I buy -> review -> sell watches, I'm sensitive to watches than drop so heavily in price too. But as I mentioned in my review, this appears to be a byproduct of them moving away from dealers/distributors and to a direct to consumer model instead. So I suspect more stable prices from them moving on.
