If I remember from some pre-release info, they said that the characters are in their tween or early teen years so they can't technically be referred as hatchlings by that point. They're just tween Birds and the only tween Pig.

Funny Fact! The fact that they did a Scooby Doo reference in Episode 3 is Ridiculously accurate. If you paid attention to the VAs, you'll notice that Mia is played by Kate Micucci, who is the voice of Velma...........O.G Velma from Scooby-Doo, not the cursed one from the terrible show. XD
