You can see the pitch well even from the top rows, although it is a little far. In the video I have used a camera with a fish eye effect, so it looks further away than it actually is. Obviously though, it would be better if you had a seat somewhere in the middle of the stand.

It sounds like one of the top rows on the left side of the stand. You will have a full view of the pitch and game, but some details will be lost (player names, etc)

Toronto FC in MLS have a stadium just like that. BMO field started as a 20,000 stadium in 2007, it looked pretty shitty and small at the time, but it was built to be expanded to over 40,000+ capacity for the future if ticket sales went well....currently today in 2018 the stadium has already gone through large renovations and is now at 30,000 capacity....they have already also hosted a MLS Cup final in 2016 with 36,000 capacity, the temporary stands we're very much like this Russia stadium, the stands behind the goal we're well extended outside the typical stadium almost identical to this stadium with the roof not covering the expanded temporary stands. The roofs were raised well above the seats for visual purpose if temporary stands we're added. The extended stands at BMO field in Toronto were taken down after, and stadium capacity was brought back to it's current 30,000......the stadium was built in a way to add more seats and more box office which explains it's odd high roofs today, it was built for the future expansions to come, and now with winning the bid for USA/Canada/Mexico in 2026, Toronto plans to host some matches at a 45,000 BMO field.....my guess is after the world cup the stadium will be downsized after to maybe 35,000 permanent stadium ...with always adding temporary stands available for future large events.

Its hard to say, i know fifa started an investigation. i have a feeling a lot was bought out by ticket touts, and they couldn't resell them. Its also one of the more remote cities. Most of the empty seats were category 1 (the more expensive ones)

I actually moved around quite a bit during the game. I started off at the very top row (7:00), then moved closer to the bottom (8:50), and ended up watching most of the game somewhere in the middle of the temporary construction (9:00)

The idea of such a big temporary stand doesn’t sound safe at all. Imagine all the people at risk! Such a strange stadium but surely FIFA didn’t agree to these stands with the lack of safety in some areas.
