Good day, dear friends, Paul with you again and you are back on the channel "PaulStrikerENG". Enjoy watching ;)
============================================
A low kick (also known as a leg kick) is a kick in which the attacker uses their leg to strike the opponent's lower body (thigh or calf) with the shinbone or foot. This type of kick, under different names, is utilized in numerous full-contact martial arts such as karate, taekwondo, kūdō, kickboxing, pradal serey, lethwei, Muay Thai, and Krav Maga.

His nickname was THE LUMBERJACK because took people out starting with the legs. He also had the nickname 'King of the high-kicks' because he knocked so many fighters KO with headkicks. Just because they were too focussed on protecting their painfull legs... This guy would stress his shins, just to stress the bown to make more bown!!! He used to kick so hard that the skin would rip off his shin... check him out!!

@@mez9843 YES, he was. It's nice to see that someone knows who he is, he should have been mentioned before Ernesto Hoost since he defeated Hoost multiple times and that was thanks to his fierce low kicks that Hoost could not keep up with. I trained with Kaman in 1992 and I have learned from him the low-kicking style. In a seminar with him, he said it's not so much how powerful your low kick is as much as your timing to place a low kick... I always kept that in mind in my training and it worked very well for me.

Before the turn of the last century, most of the so-called fighters knew next to nothing about kicking much less low kick. Low kick originated from Muay Thai and was brought to international attention in 1988 in Las Vegas. The fight between Rick Roufus (USA) and Changpuek Kiatsongrit (Thai) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqHPkGqtbZKdiqc exemplified that. It certainly was one of the most brutal fight. Roufus needed a stretcher to get off the ring.

@honigdachs. Жыл бұрын
The low kick didn't "originate" from Muay Thai nor was it something nobody ever knew about. It was simply something american style kickboxers weren't prepared for as it was a banned technique in their ruleset at the time. Also, in that particular fight, the "so-called fighter" Roufus was showing superior ability in every facet of the game other than being able to deal with low kicks, which makes your flouting characterization even more weird.

@@spookyreaper1702 for one, they usually come after punches to the face. So the person is more worried about protecting their chin. Two, lets be honest, most guys don't condition their legs the same way a guy who low kicks a lot would. Their legs would still give out first even if they checked. Third, most do start to try to check eventually, but by then, it's too late and too much damage has already been done.
