Fun fact that's actually about Twitter: the Friday night tweet from Chadwick Boseman's twitter announcing his death has become the most liked tweet of all time, surpassing the previous record holder, Barack Obama, whose tweet in response to the Charlottesville white supremacist rallies held the record for three years. In third place is also Barack Obama, in a tweet commemorating the life of Kobe Bryant after his death in January. Coincidentally, the fifth most liked tweet of all time was also tweeted this week from Macaulay Culkin who just celebrated his fortieth birthday. Granted, it's likely this list will constantly change as the relevance of Twitter continues to dominate our culture and news cycle. If the past week is evidence, all it takes is one surprising moment to spark a viral tweet.

This is great! I notice the variety of vocalizations my chickens use. When my hen Goldie had hatchlings to raise, her pleasant muttered cadence vanished. She used what I called her instructional voice. At 2 weeks I heard her instructing them. Suddenly she paused--and let out her hawk alert, a deep thrumming rumble that made the peeps go NUTS! She went back to instructing, paused--and again, a THRUMMM and a wild reaction from the peeps. It blew my mind! I knew exactly what she was teaching them at that moment. A few months later, Goldie went back to using her pleasant mutter. But I knew she tailored her speech patterns to raise her chicks. What if this wasn't her default chicken voice? Maybe it was actually the language that Bird used to communicate with her doltish Ape keeper. Perhaps she used that tone because it produced the best response from me. Hell, I don't know. But now I listen attentively to her sounds in case she has any other wonders to reveal to me.
