This year I want to get an exploring 4x4. Gladiator vs Tacoma. I have heard headaches about jeeps…electrical, transmissions, things just breaking. I really want something durable. I’ve been using my can am defender max for exploring/ hunting and it’s finicky. Curious why you chose a jeep. I love how capable they are… but, just always hear horror stories for how much they are. If you like to offroad (not cruise dirt roads) and want maximum capability out of the box a jeep is great. It is also possible to put 37 in tires and a winch with almost no mods and wiring in things like lights are easy with aux switches. However Jeeps are terrible daily drivers in my opinion and Toyota's are much more comfortable. I couldn't do what I do with a Toyota unless I dropped serious cash into it for irreversible mods. Chef Jon follows us alot of places in his 4 runner though.

Love the JT and JL. Were the gears upgraded in the JL? I really want 37" on my 23 Rubicon JLU, but my wife thinks it's already too hard to get into with 33s, lol. I feel 35" tires would still need more gearing than the 410s. Glad to see the Next Venture parts on the JL, looks great! I really like their bumpers. Btw, if anyone is looking at the 2.0 for better gas mileage don't bother, it still sucks. Right now I'm only getting around 17mpg. However, it's a super fun engine.

Nice, interested in your comment to hear about the 3.6 problems you had - as someone who works on them regularly…I ask because I am looking at trading in my Tacoma for a gladiator rubicon and would not be putting in a V8

I have had 3 gladiators with 3.6 and have loved them all. Lifted on 37s. I used them all for overlanding so they were all loaded up with supplies. Never had an issue. Just my 2 cents.

3.6L is a solid motor. It's just a little anemic on torque.

For reference.. You can use the metalcloak rear reinforcement bracket with the rokblokz. You just need to cut a SMALL clearance for it to fit. (HMU if you wanna see how I handled it on my JTOD)

This Jeep rides so smooth on the highway it's ridiculous and flexes more then I can handle with stock fenders. If we put after market fenders on we could loose a bunch of bump stop.
