Her accusations are absolutely misguided. She could discuss the media's fixation with serial killers and true crime without focusing on and accusing Peters, who is an ACTOR, and has nothing to do with her claims. Furthermore, her son's story is on public record, and does not require her permission to tell it. It would seem she wants attention, and is drawing the wrong kind to herself, let alone her son's memory.

This is so annoying. I get it, but there is no reason whatsoever to come for an actor. It was not okay to make this series without the familys of the victims permission, but that’s not his fault. He was simply awarded for being a great actor. That’s it. That has nothing to do with the backstory of the making of the series and the lack of respect the makers/netflix showed by making it in the first place without making contact.. That’s horrible but there are other people responsible for that, not Evan Peters. I don’t think this is okay. Why do people hate him so much? He portrayed a person only, he isn’t that person. People are projecting the hate someone else deserves onto him, which isn’t fair. It’s important to understand the difference. He deserves an award for his talent, which this was about and nothing else. I’m happy for him.

I have never heard of a person becoming a murderous cannibal necrophiliac so that one day they would become famous. I'm sorry, but that is overly simplistic to the point of absurdity. It is true, however, that Hollywood, the media, and video games tend to glorify violence.

He won an award for being an INCREDIBLE actor. People are hating on Evan for playing a ROLE . A role that actually took a huge effect on himself. Which has made him go into immense therapy. The show brought so much more insight onto how awful the story and dahmer truly is. Evan has done nothing wrong. He probably was super nervous to be on stage and to win a huge award. My brains first thought wouldn’t be to mention the loss at the hands of this murder.

I get it the actual Dahmer was a monster and he did HORREDOUSLY HORRIBLE things to all his victims, but Evan is far from any of that, he is sweet, kind and innocent! It's hard to cope when you lose a family member in such a horrible way, but if it really is that hard then why would they pay any attention to it?! Just don't watch it or read about it.

Some people are slow. The award was specifically for his performance, not for him playing dahmer.he had nothing to do with what dahmer did and to feel some type of way towards him because of a role is sad and weird.the misplaced hate and anger shouldn’t be towards him.what exactly did he do besides be a good actor.I understand they’re hurt but coming for this man when he did nothing wrong is crazy.also, getting mad because he didn’t say rest in peace to the victims during his speech is ridiculous,it was his moment so why spend his moment talking about dahmer and his victims when he was awarded based of his performance and his performance only.him doing the role itself showed how much he cared and wanted to help tell the story of what dahmer did.I’m pretty sure he wasn’t proud of who he was portraying but he was proud of his acting and being able to tell the story and keep in mind that it’s not a easy role to do.

Definitely I'm sure millions would've felt for a mother's loss or looked at Tony as their own son. At least I did. I think she must pacify her with the fact that Tony wouldn't have lived one more time in the hearts of millions but for this series.

Shirley Hughes had a problem with the movie Dahmer that was made a few years after it all happen. I agree it was too soon THEN and wasn’t very successful….Now 32 years has passed and she still feels the same way… She would rather have this tragedy locked away and never spoken of again… I know she is hurting..but she needs realize this story is not the Tony Hughes story, it’s the Jeffrey Dahmer story. If she’s still alive 30 years from now she would still feel the same way… “No movie” This story needs to be told so everyone can be aware of their surroundings and the kind of people out there in the world so people like Dahmer can be stopped. She’s not the only parent who’s child was murdered. Yes 32 years has passed and it’s time for a Jeffrey Dahmer Story. Evan Peters is just a Hollywood actor who played a character about a serial killer and just so happened won a award. I’m pretty sure he meant no harm.. he’s just someone who’s trying to make a living… as for the families victims.. I’m so sorry for your losses..

I will actually never understand why would the families want to be credited world wide for the death's of their members in these cases. Its like they want to get famous or want money on the bases of their family member's death... I mean, I am not saying don't grieve, everyone does, but why do they want to be reminded again and again and again that a serial killer killed them? They said the name of the victims..the whole world knew who the victims were, we feel extremely sad for them, its not like after this show people sided with Dahmer, like I am genuinely asking, why do the family members want to be credited for it. Is it really any surprise? America is a Satanic Nation that celebrates and glamorizes crime, depravity and corruption. This Country has a terrible habit of putting the worst kinds of people on a pedestal to be celebrated. It's not surprising that a movie about a gay white man who targeted black people because he knew this racist assbackwards country would make it easier won an Award. Is it really any wonder that a Hollywood that loves to kill blk people first and most up close and gruesome, a Hollywood that seemingly goes out of the way to avoid showing blk Women and Men as a couple on screen and instead opting to put them with someone white or make them gay, all the time, the same industry that likes to profit off blk people while also trying to disguise their hatred of blk people in their film making would give an award to the person who played a gay man who murdered gay blk Men? 🔥 Hollywood 🔥

He is an actor that did an amazing job. He is not the first person to play the role of a serial killer but if u payed attention to why the series was created then maybe you wouldn’t just see it one sided.

@@swinto4795 Other peoples reactions or feelings about the show is not the responsibility of the actor. He's just doing his job. It's called ACTING. If they can't tell the difference between the actor and the real person those people need to seek therapy and don't watch the show if it triggers them. This was the same argument made about violent video games and movies influencing people to become mass murderers. Censoring these types of media doesn't do anything and those who want to commit these horrific crimes already were set to do what they want to do. Nothing Evan did was illegal. That lady who spoke out against him is looking for a pay out. She's not any better if that's her motive for shaming him because it's not going to bring back her kid. You are naive for falling for this and encouraging it. Do more research on the Dahmer trial before you open your trap!

He needed to say in his speech something about mental health and something nice to the families of the people that was murdered. Instead he just said thank you for the award and that was it, he is suceeding in expense of people's pain

Oh my God shut up. If u we’re listening carefully he talks about how bad society was to let all of the killings take place. He wanted to keep it short bc of all the negativity he would receive. He did an amazing job and deserves that award.

He has mental health issues himself, he is famous for being nervous during public speeches so he wasn’t able to get his thoughts together. He’s a really nice guy and I bet he immediately regretted not saying anything

@@77Creation i fully believe the victims families should have been compensated or at least given the chance to say no they don’t want their family outed like that. at the same time i’m not mad at evan, he’s a great actor and all he was is an actor. i believe the blame should be placed on the producers and the ones actually making the show and managing the finances.

He won the award for his acting ability playing Dahmer not just for him being Dahmer.. he won because he is a great actor. There is nothing about him that would suggest he is at fault for romanticizing about serial killers he is just excellent at his portrayal of that person. There is a difference. This isn't the first serial killer he has taken on either. Yes it's sad that people were killed but I think if they the victims families wanted recognition this bad there are better and easier avenues to go through. Stop it

@@kotorandcorvid4968 they have no right at all actually. Just cause your son got killed doesn't make you special or entitled to the money that all these creatives worked hard for. All they did was sit at home, paid a Netflix subscription to watch the show and complain. If they went to court and tried to sue Netflix and try to take the money. They are just using their dead son as an excuse to steal money. Imagine that. I lose a family member, Netflix tries their best to honour the family member and then I'm like Let's sue them. How much of an entitled b*"ch would you have to be? Lol. The families don't deserve diddly squat for the way they are behaving and bullying Evan Peters. They can legit f**k themselves. If it weren't for Netflix nobody would even know they f**king exist! 😂
