What an Awesome vedio. My son would take his 2 kids to the Mothman festival every year. I remember when the Silver Bridge Collapsed, being deathly afraid of going over them my Dad would always say "they are very safe and wouldn't fall down." You can only imagine me rubbing that in his face lol. Im still afraid of going over them but not like I was as a child. Lol As for your channel...I've been with you from the start. Couldnt sleep one night, got on UTube and Bam! There you were! I love the history I've learned and so enjoy your vedios!! God Bless Chris

Pt. Pleasant is a pretty town. I enjoyed the stroll through town. I wish the Mothman museum would’ve allowed pictures though. I had not heard of the Chief or Mothman. Many thanks to you and Angel for a great video.

@@Whittdocs you're welcome. John Keel was in Athens to do a follow up on the Mothman ..according to Keel the waitress at the diner he was at told him the creature was across the river in Point Pleasant.

I first read about Mothman in a John Keel book back in ‘71 and I vaguely remember the collapse of the Silver Bridge from the news. Several of my favorite KZbinrs have also done videos about the area: Jacob the Carpetbagger, Adam the Woo, Dan Bell, Jon Turner. Fascinating subject. The old TNT area and the hotel have been examined in particular. Lots of hauntings. LOTS. And having worked in an old haunted hospital for 20 years, it’s a favorite subject. Creepy but beautiful place, Point Pleasant…

My dad was from West Virginia, so I heard about the Mothman. Do a story on the Flatwoods Monster. Those big tall walls are part of the flood protection for the city. There should be walls underneath the entrances to the walk. Paducah, Ky has the same kind of flood walls and gates. My understanding is the gates ate not activated until the river is at the 50 ft mark.

I remember when the bridge collapsed. That's where I get my fear of high bridges. The idea of a Mothman terrifies me. My husband laughs but... I am still afraid of going over a tall bridge. I love your videos. They are always educational and interesting. I am a retired preschool teacher and wish that history classes had been this interesting.

I don't remember about Chief Cornstalk, but of course, I've see the Mothman movie, and I know it's based on a real bridge collapse. I can't imagine not having regulations for building bridges. There have been a lot of collapsed bridges in the past few decades. Beautiful, quaint town and beautiful murals. Nice video. Thanks.

I was a speech therapist for school age children. I used stories about the Moth Man for those who were working on the 'th' sound. These were students who were age 8 and older and they found them so interesting and fun. They also loved that it was a 'monster' that they've never heard of before.

Absolutely a great video I loved it. It was a few years back when I still had tv I saw an article on the Moth Man they even showed the statue like you did. I’m thinking it might have been on the History Channel which was my favorite channel. I watched it more than most , I like watching documentary and history articles.

I would be more surprised if someone hasn't heard of the Moth man. You should visit Hannibal Missouri. Tons of history here and not just about Mark Twain and the fact it's actually Hannibal, not St. Petersburg, in Tom Sawyer. His parents and "Injun" Joe are buried here, , Molly Brown, Cliff Edwards (Jiminy Cricket) Harold Lear (Lear jet and the 8-track player) and other famous people were born here.
