So terrorism begins with a individual person who has strong feelings about something and find like minded people. Its usually teenaged boys, bc they are searching for an identity. That’s what I got from this tedtalk. Then together they act on their feelings. Some teenage ideas that sit in their brain until they are older and then act out their angry feelings. It’s a brotherhood of non intelligent men leading each other. Is that a fair summarization of what she said?

There is no excuse for terrorism especially for someone who executes a teenager or places a bomb in a mall he or she or they are in essence hiding behind ideas political or otherwise to excuse the cowardness and monstrosity of the act.

US is the biggest terrorist group. The word terrorist is a propaganda term. US invaded Iraq and the people fighting back were called terrorists. Imagine two guys with guns break into your house and there is a shootout where the homeowner prevails. But then they call you a terrorist and a murderer. Thats whats happening in the middle east.

You put occupation as the main motivation for terrorism. That would be true if the US was the only target for terrorism. However, 90% of terrorist attacks are in the Middle East. The main motivation is IDEOLOGY whether its islam or any other ideology! If the ideology encourages violence people will be motivated by it

Its not motivated by religion. The middle east is mostly islam except israel. Its occupation and US support for oppressive regimes and US bases in that region. Actually the main reason for terrorism is destabilizing the middle east and funding the military industrial complex. The real terrorism is the US invading countries but they have people brainwashed to believe the people fighting back are terrorists.

The problem facing the world today is based in the level of beliefs..Until we have an understanding of that issue nothing is going to get solved with Money, Munitions, or Any Material things... The root problem of today's society is Spiritual .. Get a person to think of a certain god and you can get that person to act a certain way whether that means killing and act of violence.. 🙏🥹
