so i missed something, you are using FB25 heads and FB 20 cams? do the heads supply the oil to the VVT or is that electrical?

The throttle body is "heated" with coolant, incase its really cold, to de-ice. Nice work! thanks for sharing all the little details.

Pcv is bring in the wet sluge and thats why you need the catch can... that silver tube in the center of the intake is bringing in the carbon deposits thats the EGR and you should fab a block off plate and insert it in the intake to stop the flow. If you unplug electronics to that system it will throw a code.

CONGRATS RSP! I would never have taken on such a project, due to shear ignorance and lack of time. What a story to tell folk on why your Crosstrek is a bit of a sleeper. 🍻

Soooooo, between the boxer and....I assume any other motor you may have been inside....what are your thoughts? Seems to offer unique benefits, coupled with some...oddities.

Is the front cover off of the FB 25 or FB 20?

I got question, since you have torn the motor apart. I oil in the radiator, but not water in the oil, where do you think it can be getting in from? There is no smoke or lost of cylinder pressure.
@ReadySetProjects Жыл бұрын
Is it a CVT? Because those might have a portion of the radiator dedicated to the cvt oil. And so you could be seeing CVT oil in the coolant rather than motor oil.... So maybe just make sure it's not something like that.

Looking forward to its first start up and driving impressions. Been a while I wanted to do this to my GP7 Impreza.
