Great review. So, if I set a channel and a sub-channel and it gets over noisy (i.e. construction site), I have to set another sub-channel near it? Or is it best to scan first and search for quiet areas?

It makes a LOT of difference if you hold the antenna VERTICAL........ I notice you are holding it horizontal a lot of the time...... Hold it VERTICAL and you will get MUCH better reception / transmission

Why do you say the earpiece is useless? Can you please elaborate? And what earpiece would you buy? Let's say fost hands free communication during downhill biking for example.

quick question, I saw that these came with a earpiece with microphone. If I plug in the earpiece with mic. do I still need to hold down the talk button? or can you just talk in it.

Even if you plug in the earpiece with microphone, you will still need to activate VOX. Once you enable VOX on the device, then you can speak and transmit without pressing the button. Check 6:48 about VOX. It doesn't always work very well, especially if there is a lot of noise, for example, in my video, the wind was activating vox and thus transmitting wind noise. Also, the first word/s might not transmit when using vox.

@@datdus5524 I just did a quick test to see how vox works with the earpiece plugged in. It works quite well, but it seems that I had to speak fairly louder than I usually would or it to pick up. If you have this earpiece and microphone attachment that comes with the device under your helmet while riding (no wind noise), then I think it is going to work well, especially if you intentionally talk louder.

No, I don't think it can be connected to other devices.But It can be 'connected' to other walkie talkies if they are on the same channel (frequency)

IT is standerd that all F R S radios have the same inside guts SO yes thay will all play in the same park together.

the motorola t 82 is just like any other F R S and G M R S combined radio 22 channels 120 none privet becouse we still here you and 8 G M R S repeater channels which requier a federal G M R S radio licensee and my radio's mach yours along with every other F R S and G M R S radio sold today I hold a Licensee

all F R S radios have the same serkit bord in side thay all should work together take you radios set the first radio on a channel if you want put in a channel code then do the rest the same way then press the mike button.

Inside a verhicle such radios don't work. You need a seperate antenna onto your roof, but this Motorola cannot have external antenna's connected.

Garbage radios for the price and the misleading data. You are better off getting Retevis GMRS radios. This coming from a variety of Motorola radios including Motorola APX handheld series.
