I have some ancient Motorola T6222 radios and true line of site, a hilltop to our home, I had quality communications at 12 miles. Their is a guy on KZbin testing these types of radio getting solid coms 40 km or more. The radios work best when not in a car and being held verticaly. Enjoyed your video, thanks.

I tried it from the top of my two-story house towards a house in the city in a neighborhood full of houses, but also a two-story house, at a distance of 2.4 km line of sight, and I managed to make a call with a bit of noise. Test was done in a big city , and i was amazed that it reached 2 km

Motorola has a good button for Monitor, which really helps for low signals

Hi Mr Lamb. We have a pair of these that I bought to talk to our friends in their motorhome as we were driving not far behind in our motorhome, we could not connect to each other until we parked next to each other.!!! What are we doing wrong.?

Hi there, oh that's annoying.. You should definitly not be having an issue if you are not too far away. As long as the channel numbers match up I can't see why you would be having an issue. Sorry I can't be more help!

Hi, nice review. I have a question. Do you know how to reset the radio? I would like to come back to the 8 channels, after I moved to the 16 channels configuration. Thanks in advance.

you are talking inside a medel box so the radio has trubble getting out on line of sight
@donalderickson-si8ww7 ай бұрын
you both are trying to talk to each other through too steal boxes there is your problum.
@donalderickson-si8ww4 ай бұрын
the problum is that you are transmitting from one steal box to another the signel goes out the glass window and hit's the back end of your motor home and will not penatrate through here is the answer to your question buy two 50. dollar cb radios and put the antenna on the roof then it will work and monitor ch 19 for traffic reprts from the truckers

what do you mean not true your radios are 1/2 watt line of sight or 1 mile

These radios are all the same, simply not practical, if they can't work over 1/2 mile in a built up area then there no point to them, these long range tests on high ground over 5+ miles wouldn't be practical on day to day use, this is all down to the ridiculous power restriction of 500Mw, I wouldn't expect 4-5 watts like a professional radio provides but not giving them something decent like 2 watts then there not worth the money, good build quality as nothing else, designed for use in shops, hotels and garden centres that about all.
