just turned 35. Psychiatry sucked up 16 years of my life. If I ever get my hands on my previous doctors... Well, it wont be pretty!

Sorry to hear that. I understand the frustration. Don't put all that energy into wanting to hurt those doctors or sit and stew on the years they took from us. It's bullshit what big pharma and greed have done. You'll get through it/ Honestly it's been only one year and two months off pills after 12 years and I feel like I am reclaiming my youth and becoming me. You will feel the same! Be strong you already are.

Hi Joey, Thanks a lot for making these videos. I can totally relate to this mourning period regarding psychiatric drugs and immense losses in life due to no real fault of our own. We sought help and ended up on toxic drugs that nobody really understands. I could say a lot more, but for now, just know that I am grateful for your presence here on KZbin and for making these videos on your experience with psychiatry. Is there any way we could connect and start a conversation? I hope you see this as I would really like to talk to you somehow, whether it be via email or Facebook or whatever you are comfortable with. I'd be really curious to hear how you are doing now. I am currently still taking a psych drug after stopping several and I want to wean off this last one for good. I really want to connect with people who have had similar experiences to learn from them but also, hopefully, for support. Anyway, I hope you see this and I hope you are interested in connecting somehow, as I would really appreciate it. All the best. -Paul

P Hop thank you for reaching out Paul! On my channel I have quite a few updates and this week I’ll be posting a few I have been waiting on. I am one year and 6 months off SSRI’s and Benzos and it’s still a struggle. Hope you get rid of that last pill! Thank you for watching and responding so kindly.

ALSO honey don't be so hard on yourself about not feeling like "the old Joey" because everybody changes and evolve, sometimes into completely different people over time. Rather than focus on what Joey "could've been without the meds", focus on what you can BE without them today and going forward. the Joey you would've been without them would've been different for sure anyways. and you could never relate to him after what you've been through now so don't spend all your energy on someone you never really truly knew/know. Be the version of you you want to be now or wish you would've become. Dnt dwell on things in the past cus there's literally nothing you did wrong it's the meds and diagnostics that were wrong. not you. I'm here anytime for any version of Joey you'll be :)

Always remember this as an opportunity of a second chance. A second chance you probably never would've gotten if you wouldn'tve been here in Canada, or if you wouldn'tve met Simon. If you didn't take a chance in being with him and take the risk of changing your life and moving here, this opportunity might've never come. Even better, no matter what "the old Joey" would've turned out to be, you have a chance at redefining who you are and want to be. that's also something some people dream they could do but are stuck being a certain way. You get to pick what you stand for and what you want to leave as a stamp in this universe, big or small may be. You've got an amazing blank canvas to work with, make a piece of art that you can be proud of out of it!!

honey bb you CAN start again. and yes, it is a cruel reality that those meds stole a lot of your time, but you can make it pass this. Trust the process
