I haven't seen this in 15+ years and for some reason, I just started to WEEP. The nostalgia was so emotionally strong.

Mowser's singing makes me weep. Lovely evocative seafaring type song.

Somehow, a cat singing made me cry. The crying felt healthy somehow. Good kitty good kitty.

I saw this in 1994 when I was in bed with a horrible dose of flu. I started crying like a child! Years later we visited Mousehole and I got a signed book and a Star Gazy Pie window decoration.

Love this story., we found a vhs version at a 2nd hand bookstore at Newport Oregon. I am so glad to see this! I guess we have to find a player that works. Maybe

Yes, that's right. It is priceless to me right now, as I am working on a children's piece about a ships cat from a little harbor town myself -- a very different story, but atmosphere and cat/human interactions in common. This is very beautiful animation and story writing!

Fantastic story! My cousin sent a copy of the book to me years ago and I loved it. The images of Mousehole and Even Keel are amazing. Thanks for sharing this beloved story.

I remember seeing this in school back in late 2009-early 2010 but forgot about this for many years. I asked on Reddit if anyone knew what the story was called, based on my hazy memories and this one pretty matched it (I could still remember the seafaring town and the parade in the end credits, but not the title).
