These accounts are from the perspective of the Spanish. The maxica wrote and talked if being descendents of the Chichimeca tribe. They valued their dogs like the Xolo who guide their dead into the afterlife. Chichi means breast so the Chichimeca represents the giver of life. They lived a simple nomadic life
@almendratlilkouatl9 ай бұрын
diphrasism, chichina is to breastfeed, to suck, even to smoke, mekatl is a lasso, the umbilical cord, the literal connection to the past generation, thus, chichimeka means ascendance, heritage, cultural passing, they would call the nomad tribes that way

That’s right Chichimeca region was all the way north to Durango, Texas, Utah, Michigan, Nevada, Colorado. Many of the tribe nations are from chichimecas Also their dialect or lenguaje come from the Uto Azteca.

I’m not saying this video is wrong but is short of facts it has lots of influence information from the Spaniards writers. It’s hard to comprehend the history if we use terms like Mesoamérica, conquistadors and America. This area from Centroamérica to Alaska was called Anawak.(from Nicananawak. AKA Nicaragua to Alaska. Also AKA the región of the eagle. Like South America was the region of the condor. Anyway people get more confused with videos and books made form very superficial information.

We really need more videos talking about the time between 1520s to 1800. I spent so much time trying to find info about this. Been waiting for KZbin to catch up. Hopefully the central american campaigns will get noticed soon. Chichi is not the same as chichi dogs. The stress on the vowels is different.

@@Iconictem good day Brother, sorry for jumping in conversation here but did you ever hear of any of the connections honoring the dogs amongst our tribes all over the cemanahuac? i heard straight from the heyoka society that they would eat black small puppies for ceremony and we have certain ceremony that consists of some very close things, including black dog, and can only be black. but the connection to thunder and lightning, was told by elders that the southern cheyenne would wear white and gold/yellow for their ceremonies, and from their personal heyoka Lakota ways would be black and white, they told me from a picture of the Nahuatl energy representation of Xolotl,the black dog and they said that before talked to them, they knew there was a connection so they shared it in hopes to help reconnect with others and save our history and be proud of all the tribal connections, no matter how far away we may be across the lands, spirit would connect us the elders said, like the mirror of life, in a good way, many blessings

Chichimeca, come from “chichi”, that means nipple, read. “Mecatl” means mecate, lineage. So, chichimeca means “the people of the read lineage”, it makes sense cause they cover their body with red mud in order to protect themselves of the temperatures.
@lightofchicagoproductionz90122 жыл бұрын
Woahh you got that info inccorect ... Chichimecas did not wear red mud ... the people to wear red was Guachichile in San Luis Potosi .... Chichimeca is not what they called themselves ... Chichimecatl is Nahuatl language not Hna Hnu ...
@annaolivarez25782 жыл бұрын
The slang word for nipple in Spanish is chichi. I don’t understand how “the people of the read lineage” is derived from the people covering themselves in red mud, especially since you state “nipple, read”.

Oh good grief the guy is right the mexica called them dogs and barbarians. The mexica were not nice and a lot of tribes that had to pay tributes to them hated them because they required massive tributes that pretty much made the other tribes starve. So who was appreciate of them? The purepecha were not any big fans of them either and thank the lord they could keep their own, at least they treated those under them with respect and left them to their own devices. They paid tributes but it was for exchange of protection against other outside tribes. So it was a mutually beneficial thing.
