Mike breaks down the importance of setting yourself up for success when starting your FP journey...
The Movement Elimination Protocol
How will I maintain my cardiovascular fitness?
Will I lose muscle and strength?
It's important to recognize that deficiencies in your daily movement and exercise program...may be responsible for your injuries and pain.
A full stop of these activities for some time, will help you to achieve the best results when working with an FP practitioner or through our online programs.
Your body has a specific set of movement patterns, that lead to high performance and longevity.
We aim to help you strengthen those patterns, and minimize the ones that detract or take away from them.
Our Online Programs: functionalpatt...
Our In Person Certifications: functionalpatt...

Great video Mike - makes a lot of sense that participating in exercise or activities that aren’t directly related to the way humans evolved to move will hinder progress with FP, and is likely the root cause of most dysfunctional movement patterns.

What about people who want to optimize their biomechanics for better performance in their sport? People that have no pain in the first place ? Are practitioners allowed to use their knowledge acquired through FP courses for other goals then ''getting out of pain''? For a specific sport or activities for example. Great video, love the content has always ! Thanks Mike and the FP team !

id go with the fp protocol. its has changed my life. so much so that i became a fp practitioner. So i might be a bit biased. let me say this, as i get older i need to spend my money and especially my time in areas that yield results. look at the results fp has on their instagram page. they are unmatched by any other modality of training. life is short, lets not waste time.

I love so much of this info but everybody interested in FP should know it's a cult. I remember a few years ago, order to be an FP practitioner, you were told to leave your loved ones if they engage in practices like Yoga, crossfit, or olympic lifting. Is this still the case? Does Naudi still run a cult? I just think people should be informed.

@aj_mtz 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is definitely false. There are people certified in FP who used to be yoga instructors. They do not restrict people for the reasons you stated. There are many other reasons why people may be rejected, but they do not use this as a determining factor

This is completely indistinguishable from a religion. Everything about it. Don’t look elsewhere. Don’t mix it with other methods. We do that for YOU, for your own good. I don’t doubt that FP can get you physical gains and pain reduction, but PLEASE people, do not fall for the religious indoctrination of the system. You CAN mix methods. You can question and challenge the “doctrine” and “authority”. I’m shocked at how quickly and obviously this movement system has devolved into a common cult/religion.
@itsgarrick4910
@itsgarrick4910 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think FP is a cult. They ask a lot of logical questions and Mike backs up the reasons why you shouldn't mix. Again, if you want to mix, it's your choice, but don't expect results to come quickly then.

This dude sounds a bit condescending towards the end. I get it though, it must be frustrating when you're trying to help someone and they can't give up certain habits and vices so that they can help themselves to begin a healing process that you're trying to guide them through. People are incredibly bad about taking good advice.

Is there much point in doing it if my job is labour intensive and involves lifting and digging regularly or will I not see the benefits?
@aj_mtz
@aj_mtz 2 жыл бұрын
Tough to say as people need to consider making a living as well. Although my opinion would be that the manual labor could eventually be helpful as you learn to economize your motion. If you are working with a practitioner I might suggest asking them for some pointers on improving your posture in some common movements you do for work

idk, fp feels like an MLM. The 10 week course is sparse and it requires another course after wards to improve, or going to a practitioner which is not cheap, OR you can get certified??? And then pay 1500 for 2 classes to try and get you certificate and then you can open up your own FP place but you gotta buy the FP gear from them? And the newer courses also only add an extra movement to the movement you are already doing majority of the time. Also all the pain you are feeling goes away with the myofascial release techniques. And then you just continue to them over and over and over and over again. In a sense, when doing FP you do movements that are 99% less likely to hurt you vs going to the gym, and then you do myofascial release where it hurts to get rid of the pain if you get it. It FEELS like a cult, everything is hidden and very sparse. Ppl say they are pain free now but is it because they are doing exercises that are less likely to give them pain, and they are doing MFR to take away whatever pain may arise? IDK im going in circles but it feels very culty.

Great video thankyou. We develop addictions to certain movements/habits/exercise routines and when we're told not to do them...we will find excuses to keep doing them coz it makes us feel good...temporarily. I found that dropping old traditional lifting and working on changing my dysfunctional habits to be the best decition I've ever made. For me it's simple...if you're honest with yourself and truly invested in being a better human being...going all in with FP is a no brainer.
