God, I remember trying to get emulators for old systems to work back in the day. I feel their pain. I remember one where up made you walk right, but left, down, and up did nothing. To walk left you hit 'a', to jump you hit 'e', and space was crouch. And then you fired with alt. You could pause the game with return, but doing so *also* fired your weapon. And since only one bullet could be on screen at once, accidentally pausing was dangerous. Then there were a bunch of other games with I mostly didn't bother with because you can only waste your time on random-ass controls so many times.

I didn't get to play C64 games because I was born in the late 80s. But I do love watching people play them. Especially someone who played the games as a kid, because it just makes sense to them. It's especially fun to watch Dan play these kind of games =)

It's easy to forget that there was a time before standardized controls, as most games were made by a few people in a bedroom. If you were lucky the game would allow a joystick and would use the one button to do a thing, adding a additional attack could be a keyboard function, a joystick movement in tandem with a button press, or vice a versa. And as for the load time, jeebus that was fast! I remember return of the Jedi on commodore 64, in the time it took to load 1 level you could boil a egg and make soldiers out of toast, finish half a cup of tea and be back with in time to watch the end of the loading screen, and that is in no way a exaggeration. I remember this game, but I thought rampage was more fun!

I like what they are doing with premiere, but what I think there doing in general is there going to keep the game grumps series like episodes the same and on the normal time of 10-15+ mins and no premiere, but make one off game episodes be a premiere video and also stretching it longer from 10-15+ to 15-20+ Kinda cool actually Side note the chat is off sync with the video for some reason Edit- I appears series do have premieres

Currently re-watching the Grump's playthrough of Bloodborne. Arin killing it with the gameplay, Dan just slaying with commentary, both of them hilarious and super enjoyable to watch. This sort of thing? Meh. If they are happy, I'm glad they are having fun. I just don't, personally, take as much enjoyment from it. I definitely don't begrudge them a good time, and any other fans that enjoy it, I'm glad you are digging it. But personally, I can't wait to see the next playthroughs that engage us on more relatable levels. Love you guys though!

Erick Butt Since when has patience been necessary to watch a video uploaded on KZbin? The whole KZbin culture is based on being able to get the content you want, when you want it. I literally didnt know KZbin had created/invented a thing that let you click a KZbin video and have it be nothing for several minutes before the content started, with limited ability to skip ahead. IMO this is contrary to the logic any basic KZbin user would expect, it sure surprised me!
