I'm a huge history buff too & love this series of introspective & insightful vids. there are some parts I disagree with you, which I think will make for a fun episode. for example you quoted machiavelli & medici's - so you know what they did to get power & what they said about getting power right? so how can you then vilify aurganzeb for using those same tactics to gain the most important thing of all - power. btw there are much less known stories of aurangzeb's playboy youth that actually ended up turning him the way he ultimately did. perhaps it would be wise to analyze any character in history in its entirety - as nature & circumstances often shape a man, his character & his actions.

It wasn't about religion. Guru tegh bahadur was a plunderer. Read Satish chandra the most informed man on mughal and Indian history. Aurangzeb was a bigot compared to other emperors but he wasn't blood lusted for non muslim blood like Timur. It was under his reign most hindus were in court.

@@Mr-Anuraj No, This is not correct. There is no mention even in Sikh sources of this or guru tegh bahadaur being murdered for his religious belief. The first time this highly mythological account was surfaced was only in 1848 in the third edition of "Gur bilas Dasvin". Meanwhile Guru was murdered in 1675 so the difference in time is more than 150 years. Moreover guru gobind Singh the son of guru tegh bahadur who speaks of so many things including unfair treatments at the hand of Aurangzeb which lead to death of his children but never made any mention of alleged(by later mythologies) murder of his father on religious grounds. At the time when guru tegh bahadur was executed Aurangzeb was in Hasan abdal fighting pashtun rebels and only returned to Delhi in march 1676. Guru gobind Singh exchanged many letters with Aurangzeb and was on his way to deccan to meet him but Aurangzeb died while guru was on his way.If alleged treatment of Aurangzeb with guru tegh bahadur was true then guru gobind will never be in such a need to meet Aurangzeb knowing that his fate will be same. Yes Aurangzeb was a religious bigot and imposed jizya but there is no record of him picking up Hindu preachers and executing them.

In relevance to the original comment, the point is that given his interest in knowledge as he elaborated in the video and the objectivity and non bias that we often notice in his works, can we expect him to ever showcase anything about the ancient golden ages in Indian History. That’s where I pointed out that the conception of pakistanis towards history is limited to a specific time-frame and hence you can’t expect something like that even from someone like Moroo.
