When I was on holiday at the Mumbles a few years back I had a coffee in that old station- you can still see the old posts in places where the overhead lines were held

I worked with the female singer on seatown morning, great to see all these photos, spoke with frank dunkin the driver of the last train not long before he died, what a lovely man and full of wonderful stories of his time on the railway from the age of 15 as bellboy on the steam train

Kenfig, a popular local Urban Legend. While we're there, I remember Aberavon sands before they built the steelworks

Very good and very sad. I'm usually allergic to "music" with silent videos, but this song really added something!

Those huge tramcars could be run together as multiple units as some photos shew. I remember one 'stored' at the Middleton Railway in its early days and, like the London Feltham tram it was either burnt by vandals or burnt because there was nowhere to preserve it from deterioration. What a pity.

Very nice to have seen this; I wonder if they would have got away with closing a historic line like this today.

Oh yes. I've ridden that train, many, many years ago. Please help my memory. Did they keep that steam loco as a shunter? I vaguely remember seeing it, in green livery. Anyone?
@alanbarnes Жыл бұрын
No,at the end the shunter was either a diesel or petrol loco,I saw it at the Rutland St.depot shortly after the line closed when the trams were being broken up,all very sad.

Why the insert of Peckett saddle tank number 1145. This was nothing to do with the Mumbles railway and is in fact a Swansea Harbour Trust/Gwr. Dock shunting engine shown on Danygraig engine shed. It detractes from an otherwise very good video. Graham Sinnett.

Clearly you are a person who has an interest in trains, Good for you. However I have a love for my home town/City Swansea. as for the one picture that seems to spoil your viewing of my video, which was done over 16yrs ago. I'm truly sorry, but all pictures were on a site with the heading Mumbles trains over the years. Not being a Train/Tram lover only as a Sandfields child growing along side the railway and spending many many hours along the sea front which brings back many memories for me. So congratulations on being the first person in over 16yrs to have spoted 1 picture " with a Swansea connection " but not a Mumbles train/tram.

Sir while in no way am I puuting you down but informing you of the fact you have entered incorrect information which if not pointed out becomes false information. I have also seen on other sites where photos of the mumbles railway have actually shown the ajacant LMS line. Now people will as I believe you may have done taken them to be correct. I was brought up in Swansea and love Swansea and its industrial heritage which has been sadly neglected by the local council who are at last attempting to recectfiy some of the long lost history such as the Hafod. So I say again I enjoyed you video but would like you to be aware of this minor error. I note you are from Sandfields I myself came from Landore /Penlan and love the Swansea valley. Keep the videos coming but please don't take offence if someone points out a minor error as its all information tha future youngsters is going to pick up on. Regards Graham.

A pity the stupid noise, you call music spoiled the whole film.......

You might find that your volume control can sort that issue out for you, however the song is about the mumbles train so it's staying. lmfao
