The Muppet Show was something unique, and I am more of a fan today than I was at age ten during the autumn when it debuted here in America. As the years roll by, I become more impressed by the program, and find its charms and comedy to be even more of a tonic today than in my youth. The characters become like real friends who you know. And the whole zany flavor is so winning and delightful. It seems much more a show for grownups, although children naturally were drawn to it. The show felt like a love letter to vaudeville and Hollywood and entertainment and music. Can't begin to imagine what it must have been like to be on the crew, or to put that final episode on tape and realize that the show was 100% finished. I am grateful to everyone who was a part of this team. To create something this special and fun is a great legacy for the whole world to enjoy always.

You should send this to Disney so they can include this on the TMS S5 boxset. This has to be the perfect companion to "Of Muppets and Men!"

Jim Henson knew The Muppet Show would have a life in reruns. He didn't want the series to wear out its welcome. Frankly, if other showrunners and executives could understand that, it'd be all for the better.

And later on it's "What Would We Do Without You?" from COMPANY! by Sondheim. I was in local productions of both those shows. Hey, thanks for this great glimpse of the Muppets crew off camera!

sorry if I’m 11 years late, I think it’s gene Kelly, because it’s the first episode of season five that aired, but in the studio, it was the last episode
